"Many (all?) politicians are not stating that they seek to eradicate Coronavirus but to be able to attenuate it's effect over time to allow herd immunity and the health service to cope.
They're not trying to prevent any infection, in fact, although I don't suppose they'd say so aloud they need us all to get it at some point but just on their terms and not the virus'.
95% might be perfectly acceptable if that becomes a stated objective and the cost/benefit/risk analysis is deemed appropriate?"
Iagree with this statement...However, just wondering how Boris might be thinking now after his ordeal and the fact their maybe no immunity, and he might just have to go through it all again.
Governments thinking i have no doubt...but not for much longer. Will be public outrage when it clicks that repeat bouts of infections are possible.
Maybe not yet but eradication will be on the agenda fairly soon...only weapons they have is testing....
