RE: Thoughts from this evening's event29 Sep 2022 09:51
Thanks SharketMare
A great sum up of the evening and succinctly put.
For my part, it was a great pleasure meeting so many of you old and new GGP investors and many of whom are now friends !
I hadn't met Shaun before and like me I expect many of you wonder about who is leading us through this minefield of events on this rollercoaster ride, after many of us pledged our allegiance to GH before him only to see him sell out at 22pence, leaving our SP to plummet and spiral us into a sea of despair at times!
Why will SD be any different, I am sure some of us wondered?
Well, of course his remit was to impress and show allegiance to us private investors but it is hard not to believe that this CEO means business and top of his list is to build his dream of a multi billion dollar empire and take us with him if we are prepared to sit it out for most probably years and certainly not months!
-He has negotiated us out of what Sharket and others have pointed out a nightmare scenario post GH.
-He means business and is all about making his name and longevity
-He has brought in such heavy hitters onto our board , for a price of course, but to make impact not just sit pretty
-He coudn't execute his forward facing plans without them and without some dilution and looking forward, probably consolidation
-He didn't have to answer a myriad questions instead of reading off an autocue a bog standard update presentation (which we already all know), but he encouraged questions all evening.
-He went the extra mile to explain what might have been and hopefully the new exciting upwards trajectory we are now on.
-He seems to have a forward thinking vision and a plan B for all eventualities! (critical when dealing with Newcrest and their strength of size and power)
I now have a lot of faith in his leadership because he wants it so badly, he has the toolkit in his CFO brain and now CEO role to execute it, and I back him all the way, though I appreciate it will take a lot more time than we had all hoped.
