Like I said Bamps I am agreeing with BOTH of you.
You have met with invested shareholders who come along to PI led meetings with a vested interest in holding.

There will be a myriad more shareholders who buy and sell frequently who are not invested but traders or who have had to sell due to timing, need of funds, a punt etc etc etc

The share price is depressed for a reason. Partly due to the hype of yesteryear and corrections made...but we cannot get away from the fact that buyers and sellers make the market! Which means there are sellers depressing our SP

I think the context was not so much us loyal holders as so many of us clearly are and I do believe clear to him as well as to us, but remember there are a ton of others who are maybe small maybe big holders but not as loyal also. We make up a lot I get that, but with now 5 bn shares it is wide open to previous hype and speculation and and and.....
I am pretty sure that many newbies bought and sold for a loss even not seeing quick trading gains.

I think he is right and you are right. But there are two sides to every story.

But needless to say he is working hard on it and I think is inclined to agree it will be great vehicle for Aussie waiting investors to add to our coffers. I think the dual listing will really help us

Here's an interesting additional line from SD last night-
when questioned (again) about the languished SP ...he said...it's not me it's you lot selling!!

He has a point- I imagine many have bought hoping to make a quick buck then sold seeing it dip over and over again after all the GGP hype of past...but we reiterated that it is difficult to keep newbies in this market until some catalysts are underlined. Think he gets that!

But again to my mind, that is a dent in any theories around shorters depressing our share SP.

GLA. A fabulous and super- worthwhile evening of facts; gameplans and ressurance and indeed a rare MD and such a pleasure to talk with and have fun with so many now treasured GGP friends and fellow investors. Come along- you don't know what you are missing if you are truly invested!

Morning All and great to see another set of sterling results!

I expect last night has been done to death already but here's my summary. If I need to be corrected anywhere please feel free to point out:

- Overall a fantastic boost to the psyche in a languishing market cap from the Boss SD
-He was very keen to be as honest and helpful as possible to no end of questions both during and after the presentation where he mingled with all the attendees group by group. A rare event from an MD
-here's my take after trying to read fully his real answers:
- to the shorting theories and JPM; not on his radar as important, significant or big enough to be de-railing . a non event basically and they will get caught out soon enough
-to takeout talk; we are of course vulnerable but with the might of Wyloo et al we have options and alternatives and if we go it will be in his words'' for an eye-watering sum''; when we pressed him on what that means exactly, he would not be pressed obviously but I left that conversation much happier. he is out to build his huge company
- the best news ever is that like the Tasmanian assets he wants to continue organic and non organic growth and generate ore streaming incomes in our portfolio. In other words, we invest in others and they do the hard labour whilst we sit pretty and take a cut. BIG COMPANY THINKING PEOPLE!
-re Newcrest; the relationship is good and we need Newcrest in many ways and they have spent already £350m on developing Hav why walk away now (in other words) but he acknowledges our pain on lack of oxygen re Hav from SB
-he is still surprised re the 5% but things are very different now
-When the likes of Jimmy Wilson (our new board member) and the others walk in the room respect for GGP and us as a more formidable entity and player have increased HUGELY(he has nurtured the relationship with all of them in the background for 14 months and boy is it paying off!
- re instos buying in; he already knows of two buying is as we speak and others will follow after ASX listing etc
- re the languished SP; his words' it's a head-scratcher ' and of course makes us vulnerable, but he doesn't seem too worried
-CRITICALLY (as far as I am concerned) watch this space as the next 6-9 months will be very good for us with many good things to look forward to
- re the resource update; he is still of the mind it will be jointly released in Feb and if they don't then he will issue one
-re possibly keeping a close eye on inorganic growth re purchases (and this is a throwaway comment re Winu when asked ) it is not out of his eyesight! make of that what you will
- time scales when asked about when can Panama retire early- he said 2 year plan around Hav etc and other asset developments and catalysts; 5 year streaming incomes portfolio and multi asset company with insto investment etc
-drill results- ours will be great for Hav and he is Vexcited about EG exploration
- re more to come from Hav; can't reiterate how many time

Let's just see what he says or doesnt say and tonight may be nothing more than more PI PR but if we don't ask questions all of the time whilst invested, then it serves us right for not being prepared for all eventualities in an intelligent and informed manner.
We have a phenomenal find. Let's do our tiny bit in the jigsaw to protect it!

Ace et al , that substantial PI base has been pounded down hell for leather with a reduced market cap however great the find is. Do we not think that reduces sentiment, and possibly almighty and powerful numbers?

Lots of interesting food for thought here as well as raising uncertainty for all by default. However, I think necessary queries personally.
I think Loggy summed it up really well. I agree with that post. SD wants to build and conquer and grow. It is NOT an equal or mutually informative partnership on the big stuff (5% shocker for SD and /Wyloo and Twiggy would have been a shock no doubt to SB).
I think the term Loggy used 'starving Hav's good points news-wise of Oxygen is an inspired analogy! SB has backpeddled a great deal and I doubt that's simply down to other projects taking priority.

He owes it to his board to big up a huge find continually IMO and yet does not. Hence I wouldn't be surprised by anything he does,except that SD has steadied the ship with his new board and capital input and it would seem by the jobs on offer, that Hav and Telfer are going ahead!
