Borders and Southern [LON:BOR] share price was 37% lower at the bell, coming off the back of news that a £2.5m fundraise has been completed. Critically, the downside here is less than the discount at which the company’s new shares were offered, suggesting there’s confidence in the route being followed by the company, with shares still well up on last year’s levels.

Nice to see the oil price heading back to $90. Russian oil get's banned next week. Goldmans and JP Morgan have oil at $98-110 for 2023. If China comes out of lockdown then pent up demand could push it to $120-130. Makes BOR economics even more compelling if oil goes that high. Darwin would be a cash machine.

Well said Gus. Happy is not very happy that this will recover and probably wants in at a lower sp. So many holes in his post anyway. Borders are not doing the study. An independent energy consultant like Gaffney Cline will be doing it so it will not be biased. An independent assessment will go into a lot more detail than any oil company would. It also be trusted, as the reputation of the energy consultant will be on the line. As for appraisal, the logging data from the well and the 3D seismic have shown that Darwin East is a simple tilted fault block with excellent marine sands reservoir that is continuous, with high permeability and porosity and clear seismic flat spot and amplitude conformance to structure. Darwin West is exactly the same. The reservoir is a high producer and needs minimal wells to extract significant volumes of condensate and liquid gas. Therefore the economics are excellent. Down hole pressure samples obtained show the condensate and liquid gas has no impurities, which again makes the liquid highly prized and in demand, with very few fields like it of this size and quantity. dyor.

Not sure why Rockhopper mentioned Borders. The Falkland oilers never talk about each other. So yeah, BOR must be on the radar with it's discovery. RKH got a 2 year extension with no additional expenditure. Wonder if BOR will get the same?

Wish I could have got some at 1.75p Haha. Only the in the know crowd get that offer.

Can't see this at sub 2p for long. Last open offer was significantly oversubscribed. Look what happened to the sp afterwards.

If I had funds I'd be buying another 500,000 at thee prices.

Yeah well, £12m Mcap is a total p*ss take. Those placing shares are in sticky hands I bet. Won't be able to buy many at these prices. We know what happened after the last open offer at 1.3p. The sp went to 8p with some buying as there just aren't many shares about.

Seems like they were keen to get funding at any price although £2.5m is a fair whack ($3m) compared to the last fundraise ($1.8m). I guess they need to work up their phased development concept for interested parties. Interested to know who is holding these new 105m shares. Must be an institution.

Who have the cheap shares gone too in the placing? Holdings RNS on the way?

This time last week there were two 40m buys £396k each, at 0.98p. Someone in the know and more news to follow.

Ignore the troll. He doesn't have shares in AEX. The company has stated the reason for the drill not happening in November was due to rig availability.

Some on here don't want people to make profit. That's for sure.
