Fair comments guys - just interested in what others thought.

I've topped up a few more in my SIPP today and have no intention of trading any here in the medium to long term. Too much news and potential to come in the next weeks, months and years.

Interesting to read SB's posts from last night - what do you guys make of them?

He posts that he thinks GGP is a "Strong Hold" and then goes on to blame the MM's shorting the stock for the seeming manipulation of the SP.

Do you still think he is selling or do we believe that he is still holding at his 4.1% mark and there are other forces at work here. Should all become clearer in the near future.

If we have to wait until the Newcrest report on the 25th July before any Hav news then we should see a nice bit of interest start to happen over the next couple of weeks - and then other news could drop any minute.

Newcrest are due to release their quarterly report on the 25th July and there is usually a presentation from the CEO to accompany the report.

Would the reporting from Havieron be delayed until this time?

Well I guess nobody can accuse GH of sitting on his a*se!!! Anyone know the sorry of cost for these AEM surveys. I've read somewhere that they use drones instead of helicopters / planes so presumably they are quite low cost. We are still waiting the results of the survey carried out on the Paterson Range East so we definitely have a nice news rich period coming off the rest of the summer. GLA - Paddy

Just catching up now guys - been out cheering my girls on at netball matches this evening!!! Nobody knows one way or the other but at least it's got everyone talking again after a bit of a boring day!!! I know reddirt mentioned that he had heard about some Canadian interest a while back and like I say we know Sprott have done their own research so it's emminently possible . I agree with HAT and others - pick your own targets and trust your own research. I'm going to hold onto most of mine until GGP are reaping the rewards of the toll treatment of Havieron for the foreseeable and hopefully paying out a nice day yearly dividend into my ISA and SIPP - oh well we can but dream. I was listening to the interview with Eric Sprott from last Friday.

OK it's a big leap but we know that GGP are on Sprott's radar from the research note that they did earlier in the year - link

They is a transcript of the interview on the webpage but from about 8 mins in he is talking about high cost mines (doesn't mention any by name but maybe Telfer) and how they will do better from the increase in the gold price and then he goes on to talk about opportunities with the smaller guys - see below.

"I was like buying the small guys, rather than the big guys. I actually did buy some tin rods yesterday just as it high-cost producer with a lot of ounces. But I'm tending my sort of specialty is look through the weeds and see if you can find something that everyone's totally ignoring. So that's what I'm looking at. And hopefully, there'll be a few more announcements of things that we've done here in the last little...we've been organizing in the last few weeks just to play this. And, you know, keeping our fingers crossed that it all comes true. And of course, the reward will be so substantive. "

Hi HAT Nice video - I didn't see them mention anything about the difference in speed but have read on another site that RC can be considerably quicker depending on the rock type. Anyway if it is RC and the holes are between 75m to 300m as described then they should get through the drilling reasonably quickly. Regards - Paddy

Just checked back through the last couple of RNS releases about the drilling at Firetower and even though they go into detail about the quantity of drills I couldn't see anywhere that it mentioned whether they would be diamond or RC holes.

Anyone care to speculate? - would the type of drilling make any difference to the speed of drilling / assays / etc.

Good to see a bit of volume re-appearing on here - might be a sign that something is coming sooner rather than later.

It was on the 7th June that Reddirt first posted again about the core as follows

So that will be 3 weeks this Friday since his first post - what's the chances that the assays are done and news is getting out there?? We will probably be the last to know as usual.

I saw that mentioned on the Artemis thread on Hotcopper this morning - it would be interesting to know who exactly is approaching them regarding the targets that they have that are only 4km away from Havieron.

Reading through some of the links that knokke has posted there is another positive of the rising gold price in that it should in theory decrease the cut-off grade of the ore. Lower grade ore could still be processed for an acceptable profit which could affect the minable ozs at Havieron considerably.

I like the sound of your scenario HAT - it's nice and simple and needless to say we would still be in line for 25% of profits for all the ore processed at Telfer until Havieron would no longer be commercially viable.

Yes HAT and that would be working on $1400 gold - if all the commentators are to be believed in a few years time when (and IF) NC were to have completed all the milestones then the POG could be considerably higher than today!!!!!

Just reading through a few of the RNS releases from GGP recently. I was looking at the Farm-in agreement again and even though I'd read it numerous times I never questioned (and don't think I've seen it mentioned here) what exactly is regarded as "fair market value" when it comes to Newcrest taking up the option of the final 5%.

For arguments sake if a 10M ounce deposit is defined would the fair market value relate to the prevailing price of gold at that time or would it be based on the price of gold in the ground that Newcrest were willing to pay?

If it was the price of gold in the ground what would one realistically expect to achieve for it?

I see also that GH has retweeted a tweet from Willem Middelkoop who runs the CDF fund which has a position in GGP.

So it looks like there are lots of people taking positions in gold & precious metals - I know it's not directly related to GGP but it will surely give Newcrest even more impetus to assess the size of the orebody at Havieron asap.

Also once Newcrest complete the 10,000m of drilling (and obviously they will have spent money in the background on researching, surveys etc) how far into the $10M stage 1 farm-in do we think they will have progressed. They will need to get their fingers out with the assays to allow them to move onto the next campaign pretty quickly.
