Hi sand If you look at the picture posted on Twitter yesterday of the drill site the warning signs have the DDH logo on them so I'm guessing they are the ones doing the drilling. I'm sure their previous experience at Hav will be invaluable. GLA - Paddy

I see that DDH1 are doing the drilling for Newcrest again at Havieron. They should be able to fly through the holes with their previous experience. Not long to wait now - GLA

The document that HAT has posted a link to says that Newcrest do send samples to commercial laboratory
Genalysis in Perth for check assaying for gold and copper - so I am assuming that they just do this to spot check their own results against an independent source.

Apparently they also have to test "blanks" which are pre-prepared samples to check their accuracy also.

You just beat me to posting that link HAT - been reading through that document for the last 10 minutes or so.

Interesting that they actually do the assays on site - I mentioned that a while back and was told by someone (can't remember) that the lab at Telfer only prepared the samples.

So in theory if the first hole was completed in just over a week then it could have been taken to Telfer and have been fast-tracked and GGP may even have some assay results. I wouldn't know whether they could release them as is or have to wait for the confirmation from the independent labs.

What do you reckon HAT - checking out the cores in the on site labs at Telfer perhaps? - apparently they prepare them there prior to sending them on for independent assays??
Hoping for continued mineralisation down to whatever depth the first drill went - that would do more than tickle the SP!!!

Anyone who hasn't had a listen to the latest presentation from Newcrest's CEO. Worth a listen to the whole presentation but specifically the Havieron info starts just after 20mins and listen out for the question/answer session at the end.

That's my point Lookingat If they drill to 1000+ and still have visual mineralisation then surely that would be considered "material" and be worthy of an update?

I wasn't expecting Newcrest to release any info but as MS states GGP will have eyes on - I wouldn't be surprised if CB was there full time, the last few RNS that we have had have been complied by the new man Mick Sawyer. In the last update GH stated "We look forward to keeping shareholders updated with drill results and all other material exploration information as it is received." Could be sooner than we think. Almost 2 weeks now since confirmation that Newcrest had started drilling..... On the last campaign it was exactly 2 weeks from start of HAD005 to the announcement of the visual intercepts so should we expect anything now that Newcrest are drilling? If they have gone down to 1000m and the mineralisation continues then would that be considered material and therefore be reportable? What do you guys think - will they have gone straight for the bullseye somewhere between HAD001 and HAD005 for the first one at depth or will they have tried further out to test the extremities? Spratt - I can only apologise, I didn't mean any offence - how soon do you need to issue a TR-1 then? I assumed that SB would have had issue for every 1% that he crossed - learning every day!!!

Fair play Spratt - you called it right and I guess it's out in the open now.

Spratt - we had this discussion last week - SB is holding 7.4% of the stock. If he sells any more than 0.4% (which works out at roughly 13M shares) then he has to issue a TR1 because he has gone through the 7% level.

My thoughts exactly after looking through some of those historical reports - I think historically Newcrest had suspected all along what was down there and put it on the long finger as they chased the low hanging fruits around Telfer.

GGP have come along and hit those stonking results last year and I'll bet those old reports were soon getting dusted off - they would want to have got into bed asap to tie up the feed for Telfer and it makes perfect sense for GGP also.

There's almost a sense that Newcrest have got the better end of the deal the more info that comes out but if they are talking about processing millions of tonnes of "high grade" ore using their block caving techniques then the AISC to treat the ore at Telfer would drop drastically and GGP would be left with 25/30% of the profit - a nice little income stream - you never know we might even be looking at dividends, buy backs etc.

It would all fall nicely into line with GH's stated ambition to grow GGP into a £1B company - day to day is irrelevant at the moment - keep your eyes firmly on the prize.

It relates to surveys and drilling that Newcrest did historically in the Havieron & Paterson East licences. Interesting they also did some work on Dekka, Eros & Budgiedown which are now part of RIO land and RIO have just announced that they have been approved EIS funds towards exploration of Budgiedown. I have just had a read through the historical Havieron report and they were singing the praises of Havieron back then in 1995 - There is a passage that I particularly like on page 18 of the report

"Given the high degree of difficulty of locating high grade (+20 g/t Au) ?structurally and lithologically controlled zones beneath such thick cover, it is recommended that exploration of this prospect be deferred (BUT NOT FORGOTTEN!) until other, shallower targets in the Anketell project area and the broader Telfer District have been tested"

Looks like somebody @ Newcrest forgot and GH & GGP got in at just the right time.
