11 or so days into the drilling at Black Hills now. I read that 40m/hour is achievable using RC drill rigs. If they are drilling up to 300m as per the RNS then they must be pretty close to being halfway through the drill campaign.

I wonder if they have shipped off the samples already drilled or will they all go together? and also would love to know if they are using the XRF technology to check the samples on site?

So much news flow over the next month or so.

Listened back to this interview from the 5th Feb this morning – it’s worth remembering that this was released after the drill results but before Newcrest announced the farm-in.

I have highlighted some of the salient points from the interview.
- market missed the point of the results today
- just at the beginning of the journey
- not the end of the process
- maximise the value of Havieron for our shareholders
- build a very large and very valuable company
- very large multi-commodity system
- one of the best mining jurisdictions in the world
- I don’t believe that our efforts are going un-noticed
- key in modern mining is scale.

At the end he says that you need “these large intervals of mineralisation to really build a big and valuable project and we’ve seen that with some other companies that people will be familiar with in the UK”

I’m only guessing here but I presume that he’s probably referring to Solgold.

It’s really enlightening to listen back with hindsight – Newcrest announced their farm-in on March 12th so I’m sure GH knew what was coming in relation to Havieron.

Excited for the 25th and the Newcrest presentation one way or the other.

Just logging on today - had a busy morning at work - and catching up with all the drama.

At the end of the day we are all responsible for our own investments and decisions and we should be invested based on our own research and not worry about others actions - agreed that it was disappointing when SB was selling while talking the share up but that was his prerogative and regardless of that IF he is increasing his holding again then that will be seen as a positive sign in the run up to results.
Personally I found the hints from HAT about RIO getting into gold more intriguing and interesting than all the stuff about Beetham - would you be prepared to share your thinking behind your ideas?

I agree with HAT that's it's probably just natural turnover of staff but it is interesting in that it shows that MacMahon must be pretty confident that they are going to sort their current dispute with Newcrest amicably in the near future.
That would mean better terms for MacMahon which would mean less margin for Newcrest and thus further concentrate their attention on getting higher grade ore for Telfer.

I guess if Havieron does go ahead it would provide a nice new fat contact for MacMahon to tender fur then.

That's what they say Tom but I've seen plenty of "1" trades here and they were never followed by an RNS so I'd take it with a pinch of salt - then again one could turn up any minute - that's why I'm sticking with what I've got so it doesn't really bother me when it comes.

Silver is also on a bit of a run at the moment - I remember that there was some good results in the rock chip samples from Black Hills so just checked the results RNS again.

"Many also showed high silver including 106.1g/t, 89.0g/t, 38.2g/t, 28.2g/t, 20.4g/t, 14.9g/t, 14.6g/t, 13.88g/t, 13.0g/t, 12.8g/t, 11.3g/t 10.9g/t and 10.4g/t. Importantly, gold (and silver) mineralisation in bedrock has now been identified over a strike length of approximately 800m at Saddle Reefs."

This was in the RNS release from 4th September 2018. As with the copper as a secondary at Havieron - we could be looking at nice secondary levels of Silver at Black Hills - we are 10 days into that drilling campaign now.

I know Telfer produces both gold & copper - would they need a different process to extract the silver? sorry if this is a dumb question.

Gold price is really giving Newcrest a massive tailwind at the moment - Just saw they are up another 2.85% overnight to AUD$33.15. They started the year at AUD$21.66 so I would think there are a lot of happy shareholders in Oz at the moment.

It should be a positive update on Thursday and lets hope there is some GGP news to spread the good vibes around.

Just having a quick look through the Hotcopper forums this afternoon and this post caught my attention.

It's by Back Cat and looking at his posting history it would seem he is pretty active on HC and knows all the Paterson and Pilbara players very well. Make of it what you will....

@Johnathonc I am pretty hot for the GGP discovery at Panorama in a structural setting - of course I have a long strike in similar geology with adjoining tenements - but overall given its proximity to Beatons Creek and other very prospective areas on strike -Fe Ltd -MML deal and of course Novo -Frontier and others in the area in my mind it is significant.

We all know (or should know) that Newcrest wouldn't even contemplate drilling Hav unless they thought (knew) there was a minimum overall economic grade of 4 or 5 g/t - the only question in my mind is the size of the ore body that is at those grades. The CEO alluded to that fact in the last presentation.

The gold price is helping us as well in that it should in theory lower the cut off grade but I think for now that is the sort of "high" grade that they will be looking at.

Let's hope that below the depths we've already drilled to the grades continue or maybe even increase.

I think it would be disappointing to see that but everything is possible.
As you said GH is uncharacteristically quiet at the moment - I'm hoping that's a sign of QUIET confidence on his part.

closer to that Newcrest presentation. I asked the question the other day but don't think anyone responded.

How will the release of the results be handled between the 2 different time zones - will NC as the operator announce in their presentation on Thursday morning - if so we should be able to access that info on Wednesday night or will GGP as the owner get first dibs - if so we should get a release at some point during the day on Wednesday if not before.

Either way - time's ticking away. Patience is a virtue.

I agree that it didn't look the most professional setup but I think it probably shows how desperate that Artemis are at the moment.

If anything it highlights how well run and professional GGP are and gives me even more confidence going forward.
