I know we shouldn't take anyone too seriously on these boards but the recent posts from Reddirt definitely give me more confidence that we are on the cusp of some life changing news. Someone said to DJ earlier on that profit is profit and while I can't deny that it would be nice to boost the holiday fund - I'm here (like Matty) for the big pay day that should set me and the family up for life.

I'm sure that the people in the know at GGP will definitely know what is in the ground from Newcrest by now but I would also be pretty sure that Newcrest have not officially briefed GGP yet - As soon as they "officially" (probably prior to their presentation tomorrow) brief them GH will have a few hours to prepare his release in time for market open on Thursday morning. All IMHO.

We had all the same anxieties and impatience before the HAD005 update in November last year - at least we know this time that we are going to get some sort of update over the next couple of days one way or the other.
The Newcrest report should be available at some point around about midnight tomorrow so I don't think there will be too many Greatlanders getting an early night tomorrow.

I hear what you are saying HAT but if it gets to the point where NC are prepared to actually offer that then surely we should stick it out and see it through. I get the point that there are bigger forces at play here but Havieron could literally be a once in a lifetime and NC will only offer up front if they are 100% sure that it's a tier 1 we're sitting on.

The toll treatment alone would be worth far in excess of 200 million - I would rather see if play out if at all possible

I compiled this from the DMIRS website today so should be current. I've highlighted the 2 RIO tenements that were mentioned in the tweets that were referenced earlier today.

You can see quite clearly that pretty much all the prospective ground is taken up and is being actively explored now - is it just a matter of time?

I'm just checking the tenement numbers from the Twitter post right now mate.

Looks like 4815 relates to the budgiedown tenement which is between Havieron and Paterson Range East which I posted about last week as RIO got awarded EIS funds to drill there (f**k knows why RIO need a grant)

5351 is definitely the RIO tenement next to Scallywag.

Looking at the Emits website RIO have a bucketful of applications pending in that area. I'm going to plot then on the map and post a picture of them in relation to us in a bit.

I'd say GH is busting a gut (provided they are looking good of course) to get some Black Hills results out asap. If he can drop something half decent around the same time we get the Hav results then this will just explode.

Come on now HAT it's not the time to get parochial - you've dropped enough hints over the last week or so - as you said it's all out there, you just gotta join the dots. Still all theories and supposition but looks more & more likely every day.

Would our farm in agreement still stand in the case there was a takeover bid from RIO?

I think we all know and accept that the good stuff is down there - it's now a matter of "scale" as GH had started.

It's almost as nerve wracking as watching the back nine in the Open yesterday but that was with waiting for and I'm sure we will have the same result here eventually.

Cheers mate - there's nothing there I haven't seen but like you say there's a lot of little pointers and when you see them all collated together it definitely gets the juices flowing.
I notice that NCM is up another 2.3% in trading today even with a static gold price so perhaps there are whispers getting out.....

It's gonna be hard to concentrate on work and it's our busiest period of the year coming up in the summer shutdowns Doooohh !!!!

Hopefully I'll be able to book holidays during the shutdown next summer ??

Just had a quick read HAT - so it's only costing $10 million for AIC to get a majority share in the venture whereas after $10 million Newcrest don't get a square metre of Hav - they need to spend $20 million to get to 40%.

Looks like we did indeed get a good deal going forward.

Any more clues or hints about your theory with RIO?
