While it is frustrating that they haven't yet appointed a new CEO. John Armitt is an old hand & he will take as long as it takes to get the right person. Lets be honest here. Who will leave their current job in the present climate? They will obviously be looking for someone experienced so that person will already be on a big salary package etc. Finch was on just south of £2m a year here so for sure they'll get a lot of interest as it's a high profile number (& yes Noggers he was headhunted for loads more wedge). My personal view is they'll probably appoint Davies (current CFO & interim CEO) as he's a safe pair of hands who's been there a while & done a good job in finance. Lack of CEO experience may go against him though, & they'll then still need to fill the finance job. The worst thing they could do would be to appoint the wrong person as Armitt won't do that!

sounds like more manipulation. Boost the share end of day. create illusion of turnaround so people grab their last opportunity to take up rights (no going back) then dump the shares. Happens all the time with this share, which is why i bailed out!

SuperJ, yes very true. All the regulars on this bb have held firm here despite the odd rants & threats to bail out. Noone does because they know they'll miss the proverbial boat. Get a few derampers popping up now & then but they soon get heckled away, & the odd day trader making a couple of quid. I'm glad to be in here. If i'd hung in on IAG i'd have lost about £30 grand so happy as larry to leave the money in here. On a small loss here but nothing which won't be turned around very soon!

Teddy is right here, the problem is, this share is as i see it uninvestable at least until the RI shares are in circulation. Impossible to tell where this will go on 7th Oct. But if the full rights haven't been taken up by PIs & GS/MS are left with millions of shares, the market will be flooded sending the price crashing still further

Why does everyone worry about these intraday dips? i can only assume a lot of you are day trader/short termist looking for a quick buck. Well good luck on that. Unless anyone seriously thinks that C19 is still going to be cursing the markets in 18 months then this share will be £4 in couple of years. If you got in here recently between 111-150s, why the concern? you'll get a huge return on investment that could only be dreamed of elsewhere. NEX is safe as houses. This is not an IAG type share, & peeps are lucky in these markets to have been prudent enough to opt for a sound number like this one!

What people need to focus on is not these intraday dips/tanks. they are based on sentiment in the entire markets & travel stocks among others will get hit purely by the nature of the industry. If there is some sort of partial lockdown (pubs closing early etc) How does this affect NEC's day to day operations? Firstly UK is only 1 part of a diversified business. Secondly as i see it, it would probably hit the intercity coach operation & little more. The proof of the pudding is in the eating of it & for me what matters will be the interim update on 22nd October which tells us pure & simple how this company is performing. If those results are poor then i will review my investment here, however i'm confident we'll see a big improvement on the HY results of 13th August! Green day tomoz guys, stay positive!

last time there was a lockdown the shares bounced in the aftermath. Personally i'll just use this as an opportunity to buy a few extras on the cheap. i don't listen to any of the ****** this shambles of a government spout anymore anyway!

worth noting this was well on an upward bounce before today. we seen today's BS before. It'll turn around. IMO a massive overreaction based on the worst politicians & Government i've ever witnessed in my lifetime

Teddy, personally i would stick with NEX, much safer bet then IAG which i think will drop to the RI price anyway!

NEX was at these prices couple weeks back no cause for alarm, will be straight back on the rise again. Take advantage & buy more if you can! simple really!

if the price drops below the 0.92e level then all people who have taken up their rights will be sitting on a loss!
