i've not used it but i've heard it's not much good. i think they make up for being commission free by offering poor market prices, so you pay one way or another!

They would have told the big II's of their plans before anyone else. No way was it just announced without consulting the big players as it would have taken a wallop if the news was just put out. I think it's actually a good move by the company although be interesting to see how the markets are on this one in the morning.

would be great Caitlin but i think you still wetting those panties after last couple days share rise. This will keep going up so i'm happy. A few shares out there at the moment which i think got some big reality tumbles coming their way though!

Charlie, not sure how long you been in on this share but i think your comment misses the point. Everyone knows 2020 has been a rubbish year all round, & all saw BP's rubbish Q2 results & not too much better but back to a positive Q3 result & dividends slashed etc. That is why the SP dipped to a near all time low of 188. This is the past though & the markets are interested in where the company is; where it's going; & how it's going to get there. They will be interested in the performance figures between Q3 results & year end as that is the unknown at the moment. Likelihood is that the period figures should be much better given the higher OP/US presidential stuff sorted/ Brexit done. Of course the company isn't out of the woods by any means & that's why the SP is still @ a 24 year low. Talk of increased dividends in the short term are really quite bizarre i think & getting any dividend is extremely rare in any share now. This one still offers a @6% yield which is pretty much as good as it gets in the markets. The buybacks will happen when debt is reduced. This as an investment is just a patience/waiting game , that is all!

As i said before, unless you're in desperate need of the cash, hold this till 2nd Feb results at least. You will not be disappointed!

Hi guys, i been watching this last few days & sort of wanted to buy back in in the 230s, but my BP shares weren't cutting the mustard until now, so may top slice a few to get back in. Intrigued about today's reaction as would've expected a good fall on that news, although probably is a positive as i recall when i was in here before the UK coach business is the elephant in the room here anyway (i.e half full & loss maker) The big issue here is not short term. It's how long it goes on for will determine the impact on SP. I'll keep an eye here as i'm sure will be a bit of a panic sell off over next few days & hopefully i get a chance to jump back in @ good price. Still a great little share this & i still bemoan selling out. Hope you all keeping well. ATB

Sharefall, i was thinking along similar lines here. I was in here back around May/June time & did quite well. I'm not really a swing trade type at all but it was the name of the game back then. In & out for a quick 10% every week. As i recall the big hike up (8th June time) was similar gig to what we seeing now. The OPEC deal was the big, big catalyst then. Now though we have the vaccine & Brexit out the way too. Even the lockdown stuff i think gives the market some certainty in these strange times. It will be an interesting week ahead but i can only see this marching up for the short term @ least & then expecting a very good set of figures on Feb 2nd. All looking good for a change!

i got my main lump @200 on the nose; another good lump day after vaccine @230,; then another lump couple days back @257. Bit overweight here LOL, Holding half as a long termer. May trade a few once around the 350 mark but not before then & only if a good alternative arose. I noticed a load of new names on here. Always a good sign that. The smell of imminent profits galore drags them all in!

How is this holding above 40 with that paperchase news. Being propped up by a big holder/institution for sure!

BB i think 280 looks like a given seeing how the OP is rising & BPADR. £3 may be a bit ambitious but this can move some when it wants to & i think there's a lot of uncertainties out of the way now so peeps more prepared to take a chance with their cash!

This could quite easily be testing £3 level tomorrow!

OPEC production curbed till at least March, February results will be scorcher, & lockdown bedwetters been rinsed out. All catalysts for the price to go much higher!
