The heroic resistance being displayed by the Ukraines will partly be fuelled by knowledge of what living under a Police State can be like, and the fear of being arbitrary arrested….beaten/ tortured &/or disappearance without inquiry. Easy answer. Not invested nor will now touch any Company with a direct interest with a Russian State Owned organisation ( hence sold out of BP Friday ). That recent Agreement with the ERDC will now likely unnerve a few, not to mention any potential buyer of assets . How quickly the equilibrium can change !

The unknown now is what, if any, retaliatory measures the Kremlin take !

Guess news items like the one below won’t help sentiment given how unpredictable the Kremlin are and how open the UK, correctly, now are in supporting Ukraine. Denying Swift Bank access, if happens , will only add to their resolve to hit back !

Unfortunately Putin cares little about his citizens welfare, or whatever sanctions the West impose. He has China as a comfort blanket and with Russia accounting for near 10% of global oil production knows he still retains influence, not to mention between Russia & Ukraine they account for 30% of global wheat exports….so don’t expect life to become cheaper anytime soon. All of a sudden fast fashion becomes rather secondary !

Will make little difference now, the damage has already been done. What hasn’t been fully priced into Markets is the economic impact a full isolation of Russia would have on the West. Anyway be thankful it’s only money you’re worried about !

Personally not expecting any real SP movement until we see Jan ‘22 - April, Op’s update. Until then who knows what the Market is worried about , guess anything from ENQ’s ability to pay that GE additional contingent payment of $50m ( should Brent average over $65 between 07/21 & 06/23 ) to thinking AB has a touch of a Russian look about him !

whilst this one will stay on my watchlist, I certainly won’t be committing any funds to it until more positive news is heard and that will only be recognised from one source, the Company !

No consolation to those involved here, but so many horror stories about where SP’s have been ramped up in anticipation of transformative news (which then disappoints ) where Charts don’t help….moral is await the news first, and catch tail of any rise later.
