Shocking decision and whoever signed that one off should be kicked out. Terrible PR and clearly trying to row back by suggesting passing profit to
a separate fund. Don’t have a large holding here but will have a zero one come tomorrow ! Disgusted.

Interesting that some feel this Board is the sole province of those holding Long ! Plenty take a different position or don’t wish to touch the asset and merely Spread Bet. It’s for them to argue their own case and if drowned out, may realise they could be in the wrong position. Currently I fear they probably are.!

Agree there are ways out of this dilemma, they’re just been made harder and possibly not quite so rewarding had they managed to secure a deal earlier. For investors the Board really need to provide regular progress reports from now on as silence will only breed further concern.

I’m afraid you only need the Russian Duma, in retaliation to Western Sanctions, to pass new legislation revoking all previous agreements with non-friendly States that would otherwise allow TP access to valuable assets, and it’s a problem. Let’s face it Putin revoked one of the Geneva Convention Protocols ( regarding protection of victims of International Armed Conflicts) in 2019, so breaking International & reversing domestic Law comes natural to him. Hence the nervousness running through those Companies exposed to Russia. Further Sanctions principally from the US and in particular as regards Hydrocarbons and the risks get ratchet up somewhat. No one’s out the woods for sometime yet I suspect, unless there is a dramatic event that ends this conflict !

Good luck with that idea, it’s being bought for the Div. so will likely retrace by same amount when goes ExDiv !

“SP is priced as though all Russian assets are worthless”….last time I looked the M.Cap was £185m ! Real question is what distressed sellers can realise for their assets….China ain’t paying market rates for Russian Crude !

The real issue will be what sanctions the US dream up which will force others to follow. Look at the extremely detailed Iran Sanctions which is probably the blue print, the US are currently working to. That takes matters to a different level.

Well I’d normally be celebrating but frankly I’m becoming rather ashamed to be living a comfortable life in the West watching others being slaughtered and feeling a coward. I don’t wish to make money this way. Sorry.

Seems Putin has no intention other than to take full control of Ukraine and in doing so further isolate Russia. How far continuing sanctions go remains to be seen although the UK will fold in behind the US, who have yet to reveal their hand.

Yes Good night Oligarchs !!. This conflict has at least shone a light on the sheer scale of corruption, nepotism and wealth that weaves amongst the close aides of Putin and should finally end their global freedoms and previous ability to buy themselves into Western democratic security, more or less at will. Thankfully without holding western valves, that security is rightly now being removed.

Whilst the West search for peace it’s good to see the financial garrotte around Russia’s neck starting to cut the blood money off, with quite a few Russian oil tankers now floating around, unable to dock or give the stuff away. Hopefully Biden’s next round of sanctions labelled “ He has no idea of what’s coming” finally snaps the neck so we can finally zip up the Iron Curtain around Putin and his cronies.

Won’t be many sorry to see Russia’s Sberbank shares collapse on the LSE this morning…down over 85%. Plenty of foreign investors inc Swiss no doubt, will have been caught there. At least one bit of good news !

Interestingly on 14th Feb they confirm “Contrary to speculations, the Directors and the Officers of Eurasia have not sold any shares and, as the largest shareholder group, are focused on the liquidity event along with all shareholders". Yet today here we are "The Board notes our focus on BRICS (in particular on Russia, China and South Africa) and Japan in terms of our M&A strategy.
Conclusion thus….No buyers interested so let’s look at M&A ….they really need to come clean, or is that what they are worried about !
