I suspect the majority of retail investors have been attracted here by ‘Covid’ , who unfortunately will also be the impatient ones, so the clock is now ticking down. In the meantime we need someone to catch Alistair skipping into work singing ‘we’re in the money ‘ to calm those of a nervous disposition!

It’s always best to look at possible future earnings than historic share prices. The likelihood of seeing £4.00 in the near term looks fanciful. BOO is currently structured to make its Directors quite rich on the back of Shareholder support. The cash in bank is not their to pay a Dividend only a rather generous bonus. Gross Margins will suffer thats a certainty and frankly they would be foolish to now carp on how clever they are in achieving such levels . I suspect Revenue will hold up fairly well but Profits will slide and its impressive growth story will stall. . For that reason it’s PE multiple is no longer warranted but the SP will remain volatile whilst a more appropriate valuation is settled upon.

BOO were not aware of this specific incident but that doesn’t exonerate them, unless their specified Tier1 / 2 Suppliers directed contravened Contracts . Normally one would hope these specifically exclude sub contracting to unknown parties unless written agreement is first obtained. They do after all need to ensure mfrg standards are maintained and that is difficult if unknown entities are engaged in producing your goods. At the very least one can expect pressure now on Gross Margins which frankly would be a good thing, albeit not what Shareholders will like.

The reality is their Gross Margin of 55% now looks unsustainable, and will likely drop closer to the ASOS model. Thats not helping their cause.

You’re beginning to sound desperate... I’m not sure many need to know your purchasing strategy, but if you believe it’s supporting the SP I’m afraid it’s not working . You’re witnessing ‘ethical distancing’ at work by the Institutional network and its a powerful club.

You may be wise to let this play out a few days. If Delivery Companies take the same attitude as Amazon etc. then it gets worrying.

This may be old news but it resonates with today’s agenda over historic slavery . Yes it’s unfortunate timing for BOO and others will probably feel relieved it’s not them in the spotlight, but they only have themselves to blame.

for those investors too young to remember Black Monday 1987 when the US Market collapsed over 20% without warning , don’t think you can merely log online and sell when panic sets in. The Market goes into freeze and you sit there watching your investments plummet. Fortunately better control systems are now in place but even minor corrections, and we are due one, come along unannounced and you’ll have no guarantee that your Sell order will be accepted. Just be mindful.

Problem is this is not the first time they have been caught using cheap sub contract labour and each time very apologetic / we will do better , statements are quickly issued so rhetoric is wearing thin....its time for firm action. The commissioning of a full independent report is probably the least they can now do . It’s currently a PR disaster .

A current concern is what impact any of this will have on their Gross Margin. They work to what seems an excessive level at 55% GM. If suppliers can’t maintain output to satisfy this then what gives ? . As they say Revenue alone is vanity, Profit ...sanity and cash in bank...reality. If there is a whiff that Profit may take a hit then all bets for a short term recovery in the SP are off ! It doesn’t take an expert to realise the difficulty in producing this stuff at such low prices and high margins.
