Agreed Ilvelo, there was a good dose of doubts thrown into the article, including the threat of disruption that may be brought about by activists, I think the article would scare any would be investor from parting with their hard earned cash. I am unsure why Schubert is waiting on the territory to finalize its code of practice before submitting Origin’s environment plan if Santos have all ready submitted theirs & the 28 days consultation period on the Santos EMP will end on 9th May. Will be interesting to see how quickly they can move ahead.

Thanks for posting the video link, so we now have it from the horses mouth that drilling is planned to start in in June, two drills, two horizontals with extended tests and lots of news on progress throughout the drilling programme.. EMP should arrive soon, is this the last chance to buy at these levels?

JS490, I can see your glass is half empty at the moment, I believe that things are coming together for drilling to go ahead this summer in NT, whether June or July. Santos have their EMP submitted all ready, so hopefully we will soon follow suit. As for the extremists, they have all ready been defeated by the inquiry, and I don't think that the NT Government will stand for any more of their nonsense, there is far too much at stake for the NT.

It is in my thoughts that if the Kyalla Wet Gas area is proved up, this could be sold off to raise the funds for more exploration drilling, Falcon can then go ahead and prove up a greater area elsewhere in the Beetaloo before they sell.

This waiting period is frustrating, unless your looking to to up at 20c! Good to hear the KatieWolf link and listen to Canavan pushing the Beetaloo... He stated that the geologists are getting very excited and think the Beetaloo may be the biggest thing outside of the US. The 8.4 million funding is to be used to try and speed up processes to enable regulations to be passed more quickly so that exploration can begin. The benefits of the Beetaloo are being used to assist the coalition in their election campaign.

I can understand that some people may need to sell, whether or not they are aware of things happening in the background, or that the excitement is drawing nearer, I'm hoping that those who are able to keep holding will be well rewarded at the end. There may be opportunity to de-risk / take proffits on the journey if needed. Things seem to be hotting up with big companies looking for large areas to buy in to, I'm sure the Beetaloo will be on their Radar. It wouldn't surprise me if there are a few big companies banging on POQs door if drilling is successful this year.

The market consensus has priced in continued oversupply going forward, but early evidence suggests a meaningful production slowdown in 2019. As slow supply growth undershoots consensus expectations, I see high odds of a tighter market and higher prices in the second half of 2019. Today, the natural gas (UNG) market is oversupplied and prices remain stubbornly around $3 - about the same price as 6 months ago. However, I still believe prices could soar as we move through 2019. BP is set to become the latest international major to quit drilling for shale gas in China because of poor exploration drilling results so far, Reuters reported on Thursday, citing three sources with knowledge of the plans.
Back in 2016, BP and China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) signed a production sharing contract (PSC) for shale gas exploration, development, and production in the Sichuan Basin in southwestern China. However, poor results from shale gas drilling are now making BP withdraw from the projects, according to Reuters sources.
BP joins other international oil and gas majors such as Shell, Eni, Exxon, and ConocoPhillips that have stopped drilling for shale gas in China, leaving the country’s shale gas sector predominantly in the hands of the large Chinese state-held energy companies.

Great news, Santos have been quick of the blocks. Is Origin required to submit their application for shale gas exploration drilling after their 6 months Baseline water monitoring period ends, or could they submit this before that period ends?

Noted that there are no reasons given for the belief that drilling will not happen in 2019, I've heard plenty of reasons to believe that it will be starting this year, and would be a good time to buy if this is the case. The new tax year begins on Monday and some buyers may have been hanging on to add more. We will find out soon enough. GLA.

Budget highlights oil and gas as major economic pillar. The Federal Budget has reaffirmed the vital and significant contribution liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports play in sustaining Australia’s economic growth. “The government has recognised the critical role Australia’s oil and gas industry plays in supporting our economy through providing energy security and exports,” said APPEA Chief Executive Andrew McConville. This follows the release last week of the March Resources and Energy Quarterly, which found in 2018-19, Australia’s LNG export earnings are forecast to reach $50 billion, an $18 billion increase over the previous year – the largest increase of any commodity. “Australia’s LNG projects will deliver decades of economic growth, jobs and revenues for state and federal governments,” Mr McConville said.
