Hi Hot apologies for not replying yesterday waa out from 11ish onwards. Yes agreed swing trades...... ditto.... nice in theory but far too much volatility to feel even a little safe. Even the hourly and 4 hourly signs can send indices in the oposite direction.!!! Margins as you say getting larger and IG min £2a point on indices...... £ 20 a point on the S&P if i recall...... . I could trade the S&P as its slightly more predictable but not at that price........ I must set up my other screen and trade more on fin spreads and use IG charts and tech analysis... Joshua mahony very good but doesn't always get comods right.. Telford....... the furthest I wonder into the West Midlands by choice is to visit Litchfield. Which I really like, lots of nice eaterys and drinking abodes Gl all

Hi Hot well done on the indices. How long are you running your swings for on average? and don't talk about the Dow i am still hurting....... For my self i need to build up much more capital in my account before i next trade longer term on indices. I was running easy jet at £20 a point and a lot of other stuff as well inc gold and the Cac and quite a few shares . It was stupid of me to tackle the Dow a well it was all a bit too much, bad money management on my part i guess . II continue to live and learn as they say . Telford is that your nearest big shopping centre then don't you live in Wales somewhere? Telford is about an hour away from me but ive never been there as there are shops every where these days. GLa

is it messing up your trading or are you using a battery laptop? fowl weather here also, i am fed up as i want to get out the house for a while

Even all the news was saying it was going to open quite a bit up particulary on the back of Wall Marts news. The irritating thing is i was right as its racing away now............... but you know that horrible feeling when it just keeps on going down with no end in sight. yuk de de yuk!!!!! Just gone back in easy jet

Ive had a roller coaster off a day. I was doing well enough but i was long on the Dow It dropped like a stone at the bell. I got a margin call and decided to close everything out. I must really stop trading indices until i build up my account to a sufficient level. I live in the east midlands near Derby its been a bit wet and windy but not much else. good luck all

Hi Gs, ill take a look at your watch-list shares........................interesting thoughts re holding to end of March/April. Hadn't thought about referendum yes bound to send the market skittery. I guess it depends what you are holding. I only hold dividend paying shares and funds now. Then everything else is bought and sold on margin. Can you remind us though to dump our holdings at the required time,my memory not so good these days lol

Looks like you did well on all your late end futures Hot well done. Just looked at your supermarkets SBRY looks favourite for a day trade on the candle ( but yes they are all over sold) and it could be their turn to move up assuming the market doesn't drag everything down.. Also worth keeping a wary eye on Golden S G4S its very over sold Sunday indices closed now but IG isnt populating any thing on the popular markets?, see what tomorrow brings?

but i am somewhat tied into Sainsburys for the foreseeable future. I saw that amazon are going to start selling groceries but you need to be a Amazon prime customer and pay the £80 yearly subscription. then you have to pay £3 for a 20k box. I cant see that being any better than online delivery but some people no doubt will be customers certainly the younger generation. The big 4 though are gettting their act together and they have "Size" on their side. I was in a mega modern Tesco this week with escalators and lifts etc . car parks galore and fuel at 105 a litre. The store was really busy, I have to say it was a joy to be able to shop slowly for a change and have a bigger range to chose from and i spent more that i wanted to!

Thanks for your views. I guessed that the futures markets would react with regards to Paris events but was surprised to see how much the Dax has dropped. I've never traded the Sunday indices as they have never ever followed any normal patterns that i recognize. I assume its the Sunday trader chancers having a gamble..................... Come Monday yes i am sure you are right the indices will all be down so might have to move some stops lower again. GL all
