I guess it depends if you want to come back permanently . There is always social housing or renting. Saying that, if you still have the wonder lust and you are happy, carry on seeing the world. jdf7 yes its a good policy as one get older. As for me investing now it primarily about gaining an income. With an income P/F it almost doesn't matter if the P/F goes in to a loss providing you don't need the money and it keeps paying dividends . I just treat mine as an enhanced annuity. I am getting tax fee income through divis ( as in iSA's) plus there is always the potential of taking cash if i decide to sell some shares and it keeps paying divis. My Aviva annuity which i have been drawing since 60 and very happy with as its regular income ( but dies with me) At least my P/F, provided i don't need the cash will still be intact to pas son to family etc ( all things being equal) Kenya sounds interesting and your nomadic life must have given you some good stories to tell. Hi guys and thanks for your support , appreciated. Share wise yes, its been a very bad year for most i believe. as almost every thing we all bought went down eg: RDSB and RR just to mention 2. I tend to only buy Dividend earning shares and funds these days, Trying to find multi-baggers is virtually impossible at the moment. even the experts constantly get it wrong¬!!! It was a lot easier 5 odd years ago on AIM and most ftse shares went steadily north over a one to two / three year period, not so now. Diversification is the key now and dividend earning shares in my opinion. Jdf curiosity getting the better of me, do you live in Kenya then? GL all

JDf7 Hi Jd............... MPO i made good money out of that in the past got some good returns of cash...... I sold out eventually as there was some debate as to whether a the company would continue or wind up the fund and return the cash to the share holders. As long as it keeps giving you money back in the special dividends and the Chinese gaming tax laws don't detract from the price it should be ok. I am currently away again near Peterborough, Its a personal journey this time where my folks are laid to rest. good luck all

GS Hope you are not too disappointed in selling your Glen, it could have gone the other way ( a profit is a profit and all that ) Well done on AV and good luck with Standard life. All my trusts i bought the other week hit nice profits today but am holding long term for divi income. I bought a quantity of premium bonds today. I have a large lump of tax coming up to pay in January 2016 but a much bigger one in January 2017.The bain of the self employed. In previous years ive put it on deposit as I wont risk it on the market but with no interest worth mentioning and virtual zero inflation i thought it might produce the odd £25 prize, at least i can lose any money . and eventually off it will got to the tax man. another thought behind this is a Warren Buffet classic " the first rule of investing is ....... Dont lose money!! good luck all

Gs well done on Glencore sale. Glen are up for a £1.6 bill placing they have massive debts and the share holders are up in arms. There is even talk of them going private if they last that long. all things dismal with comods You are well out of it in my view and a handsome profit to boot. well done. Hot, you can't beat professional pride, A flange nut and a washer and as good as new. I bet that old boiler is singing like a hummingbird. Evening all Hot, Barmouth and ice cream all sounds scrumily good. You must be mega chuffed with your AV buy a cracking uplift today. also ITV and VOd up. I am very happy with the big tick up on my Sainsburys shares up 30p today. I did some /S/B on RDSB and RR with some decent points the last couple of days. Jf7, happy days with Glen, you timed that well! Personally i would take the profit now, you know what the market is for every one up day there are twenty down days! GS same advice to your self sell whilst in profit you know it never lasts!! Hot buy your self a new boiler you know you can afford it lol GL all

RR shouldn't get caught up in diesel issue as the bulk of RR share values comes from the making and maintaining of it's RB211 jet engine and it's nuclear submarine engines . Hi all..... well Gs what a shopping spree you have been on. If only you could buy shares from sainsburys. If you could it would help push up the sp. Lol........ Good luck to you........ I saw yesterday that IG posted huge gains since black Monday....... so the vast majority get it wrong........... I've put 15K in 3 funds recently and plan to do more over the next months........ I am looking at some specialised products that arnt available to the retail investor.......... EG : reinsurance and globally diversified private equity......... No doubt I'll be back on the spreads at some point and the s/b board ......... Gl all ...Ps when will RR turn? .........
