One's happiness is important - but why would Private Equity, or possibly SBRY, pay such a high premium, over 50%, for shares they can buy in the market for 140p approx? 'Aldi and Lidl`s main onslaught has been in MRW`s heartland and now I feel it has weathered the storm and is holding its own' - what figures do you have to back up this statement? Retreating from convenience stores at a huge loss has been seen by analysts as necessary in the short term, but a mistake in the long term. Could that multi-million pound loss be the catalyst for the dividend to be cut altogether?

You seem to be both exultant Ocado holder, (unbreakable 25 yr deal) AND mugged off MRW punter. Tesco started Online food decades ago & is the only one of the Big4 to make a profit. In an Uber world, MRW are running a Taxis service, 'Sorry Guv. not going sarf of the river, Scotland... You 'avin a larf?'' In 2017 MRW Online sales may be up, ditto losses, but no chance of matching Big4 rival's coverage - unless they send another truckload of Gold to Ocado. IMO, private equity will have made a bid for MRW by then.

Ocado never made a profit til it found a punter desperate to sign up to a ridiculously generous contract for the foreseeable future - step forward the 'Dolt'. Without the MRW deal, Ocado SP would have sunk.

Despite similar responses on this BB, for YEARS now, Hedge funds have shown no interest in Shorting Tesco & continue to Short MRW Big Time. The only rational explanation is that they think MRW a lot more vulnerable than Tesco.

MRW BOD were renowned for presenting the Dolt with soft targets & are now continuing the tradition with Potts. I understand BOD member Groucho Marx told Potts 'These are your Performance targets - and if you don't like them -well, we have others...'

Im sure shareholders will applaud the BOD's decision to LOWER Pott's performance targets - I would remind them of the crazy decision to flog the M stores in a 'hit the ground running' state to their delighted new owner - who said they would be 'Profitable from day 1' by correcting 'Basic mistakes'. IMO, a move this desperate must signal a skeleton in the cupboard...

I think this is very unlikely - the 2 growth areas in Supermarkets are convenience stores which MRW have just sold off & Online where MRW are playing catchup by using an expensive 3rd Party. More likely, IMO, is a private Equity buyout, (NOT the Morrison Family) who would break up the brand and sell of the bits to more than 1 bidder. In addition to Pott's seemingly desperate M store sell-off, to dayspapers comment that Pott's performce bonus is still on track, by the simple device of revising his targets DOWNWARDS.

Or Japan Tabacco, which has been in the frame for longer...
