It would seem unlikely, Kantor figures for market share for the last few months, show the worst performing 2 of the Big4 to be Asda & MRW - both have NO convieniance stores, while tiny Co-Op is gaining market share.

Ocado is now the 3rd most Shorted stock in the Ftse100 & MRW is the 4th- both over 17%.

One would expect this US sale would decrease Short selling, but in fact it ROSE by a small amount yesterday, from 18.69% to 16.83%

VOD 80% & NCC 20% - keep it in the Tech sector.

Obviously, a Short has to be made against a higher SP initially. If the SP increased dramatically, you would expect Short interest to fall & vice-versa. Today's picture is on increase in Shorts in Ocado +.13%, SBRY +.09% & Tesco + .45% - MRW is unchanged at 16.69%.

Ocado 19.23% - MRW suggests new deal bad for Ocado. MRW 16.69% - more than 6x the Shorts against TSCO. SBRY 10.01%, TSCO 2.45% - waiting for your answers guys

Then why is MRW consistanly shorted about 5 times as much as Tesco? Smart money says MRW is the weakist link :)

IMO, the convenience market is too crowded for late entries to establishthemselves. The big players Tesco & SBRY have cherry-picked the best sites years ago. Witness the MRW failure of MyLocal, (20 million hit on rents), Netto failure will cost SBRY 30 million - the best of the Netto sites were sold off to Lidl years ago.
