Morning T S & V. Osborne very chipper this morning. Probably thinking thank god I got sacked. He's calling this a short sharp shock not a ten year banking crisis. I think what we're seeing is the snowball effect of oil crisis (most including Bp &Shell way too much dent just to cover dividends, which will have to go anyway) virus and basically over priced markets brought on by low interest rates. Yep, there will be value, pawn and charity shops!

Futures down another 4%. Oil down 30%. Possibility of early release of low risk prisoners to ease sick leave. Italy quarantines 16 million residents but allows free flow of tourists. Aren't they the ones spreading it t the 4 corners? Boris replicates Princess Diana kissing an AIDS patient by shaking hands with corona patients, although he doesn't look overly confident about it. T. The big difference has been the likes of Apple, Amazon, Microsoft and a few others compared to our trail blazers BT, Vodafone, RMG . We do have some brilliant small caps and thats really what we are still good at, inventing stuff and then we give away to America and China to make the money!
Think there were 3 risers today on the 100. Dow open -800, steadied a bit but probably find more money off the table for the weekend. So tempting today, but this is no rational market and I have to keep telling myself what I said about where volatility takes the market. Could be nearer 600 before this blows over I feel maybe lower. The big question is how well fortified are the banks and have they really been sured up 'so the 2008 scenario never happens again.' Already talking about supply chai disruption. Even if Ocado can double its business this could be a hamper. Sorry for the negativity, trust trying to dampen my own enthusiasm to grab bargains like they are going out of fashion!

Amazing the ftse is now worth 5% less than 20 years ago and thats not taking account of all the companies that have been ejected over that time. The Dow is worth 100% more than it was 20 years ago by contrast. Heyho.

Couldn't quite hit the buy button on OCDO even though below my last sale sp, so bought more Kape tech instead.

HI everyone. The sun didn't last but ended up with small positions in about 7 stock, all of which I am happy to hold/ add to come what may. Managed to resist some obvious virus traps, namely RTN and GYM, both of which I did very well with last year. Its obvious really that however good the value appears, any business that depends on strangers meeting and sharing a confined space is not going to be favourable in the coming months i.e planes boats and planes, restaurants, pubs and gyms. The worst one of all that I had been watching closely was Nanaco which virtually halved today on the announcement that they were not getting anywhere with Samsung and alleged infringement of intellectual property. A super investor had taken a very substantial holding sucking many into the web. Phew! So finished the day even stephens after dealing costs, and watching OCADO floating off into the distance, might get another chance I suppose but not going to chase it.

WE seem to have a few crossovers, I traded Fres ok early last year , before it got into issues and KAZ. trying to avoid metal oil and banks now. Gan are trying to list on Nasdaq for $2.32 which could be tricky and expensive. Just bought slightly bigger portion of IMO as they have just announced deal with Hawei this morning. Meanwhile looks like OCDO is trending up . Thought we were going to get low 9s lol , wishful thinking

Dow futures up 400. Not that that means much. Taken very small portions this morning in GAN, CNC, TMG, CHRT and KAPE. Most of them have moved up significantly already since the sell off. But have left plenty of room to add seeing as they would be all long term holds anyway. Still considering FDM and IMO and of course OCDO. Have a good day, sun shining magnificently

From one US market commentator 'was a strange move to cut rates in middle of day. Sent a worried message to markets.' First cut of this kind since 2008. Wont be buying any banking shares! have spread my savings out too to be under the 85k limit. A lot of mixed messages coming out. I guess at some stage one has to take a personal view on the outcome being positive, probably sooner than later.

Dow currently down 750 or so. At the risk of repeating myself, really not a good sign for the wider economy and markets. CNC has about five times its normal trading volume through feb and today. Really should have paid more attention earlier. Still 20% off its peak. Has been trundling along for 20 years or more, so its not exactly and ARM holdings and its still not a huge business but its future with Ai could be a game changer. Like OCDO a lot. Again volume increasing loads. Will be looking very closely to get back in both. As ever, good luck and be very alert

Hi guys hope you have had a good day, Been gardening for a neighbour today, otherwise god knows what I might have spent. Continuing to watch for now I think T. Let of pent up Buying today and doesn't take much to move some of the juniors either way. CNC was down 30% so probably won't see that again. Anything under £1 is pretty decent in a normal market whatever that is! Will give you a shout when I go for it.

Well the tittle tattle will never end between Trump and the Chinese. I see three of the stocks I was looking at have got up nearly 10%, and that after going up yesterday too! Good figures from supermarkets, or perhaps I should say less bad. When they start celebrating rises of .02% increase in sales it just shows how tough it is, and won't take much to reverse. Obviously people will be steering clear of crowded restaurants and gyms . The restaurant group which bought Wagama just over a year ago is now below RI to fund it. Directors piled in yesterday. Still not convinced

Great to trade after dow yesterday but. This kind of record volatility is very symptomatic of impending crash. Ftse is much more measured. Yesterday we were all fearful of the virus and how it would impact the economy, today with latest figures showing the spread of virus accelerating 8 times faster than in China everything is ok? mm

No T. Don't really see the logic behind NCYT. Probably better off backing an evens favourite. More into tech than biotech. Especially those with AI capability like OCDO! I like Gym shares which did well for me , but the virus could be a big concern, hence their recent fall. CNC is a promising little company they make Ai boards, or boards which enable Ai. First invested in them 20 years ago at about 18p. Sold way too soon. Have been up to £1.20 this year before virus. Three IT companies worth a look IMO, FDM and the new kid on the block doing very well Kape tech. Made a big earning enhancing acquisition, would like them to fall back a bit more after meteoric rise. SCE interesting little company brakes for high performance cars. Trying to steer away from the traditional stock and find the potential new age Ftse 100 stock.

T. Doing nicely despite credit Suisse downgrade. Dow futures up 500 at one stage this morning now down 100. One or two share I really fancy but just don't think its worth the risk yet. Hope we haven't missed the boat with OCDO. Take out the Rose sale, Ballin Gifford fannying about, Corona virus and the downgrade and what are you left with ? Rising SP lol

Margin traders out I force this morning. Will be closing trades pretty quick later. Slightly les daft than trading with a credit card I suppose but I really think they should scrap TR trades. I remember an acquaintance doing this back in the nineties . Ended up having to double his mortgage to pay off losses poor bugger!
