Is it something to do with order books and a lack of buyers. Not sure what happens to stop losses. You can put a minimum sell price on a stop loss or just let it fall through the floor. System will be struggling to cope. My online left me with two stock to sell it would only do negotiated trades for them on Tuesday, so I hung on and sold them yesterday morning online probably at a better price. Negotiated trades don't let you have any say. You are at their mercy. They say they will get the best fair price, probably for the mm I imagine. Avon would be a case in point fell about 5% Tuesday and rose the same today. One of the Naked trader's top holdings. Investment trusts are another area of interest to me. Majedie is one my family used to invest in. Run by ex rubber plantation company. Used to be very good but absolute disaster area last 20 years, Scottish Mortgage and Monks Trust which I have owned a few times have been very good. In fact I can't quite understand how they have stood up so well in current market. It must be difficult to shift portfolios their size around quickly. Should have just given them all my money years ago and forgot all about it. In fact have a mind to just that recently.

They are talking about bear market territory in the US. They called the fall correctly so far, be it with a helping hand from Corona. WE saw the fuse falling from near 7000 to 3500 in 2003? hopefully we have moved on. Again it went up 140% in 14 days the seventies, presumably after another oil crisis. Expect interest rates were a lot higher then too. Keeps us on our toes. I like the one share strategy. trouble is it needs to be a different one every day. CNC and Kape are both doing well, the others are a bit muted. Still hanging on to a lot of fire power. although maybe yesterday was a day to be a lot braver. Its difficult when its that incredulous a fall because you imagine you must be missing something. Anyway the important thing is to stay in the game, not so much how far you win by but that you win!

Just seen M&S share price£1.36 FFS. Surely it can be that bad 11% drop. Even Sainsbury didn't get that bad, People don't seem to have a lot of confidence and yet they now own 50% of OCDO retail. Very odd Imo.

Hope we all recover well S. Just heard an interview on the radio from an analyst saying we should bounce back as emphatically as the the fall. Sounds like the optimistic estate agent. Will be watching dow and futures tomorrow morning. Basically it will come right but as we know it is also about timing. As T says think what we can do in a rising market. Actually I'm not sure I'm a whole lot better in a rising market. Sold too soon too many times last year. As A.Patel (barrister turned investment guru says: always leave yourself room to trade. Its been ok thanks T . Bought 5 stocks. 4 top ups in IMO, TGM, KAPE and CNC. Bought back video game maker CDM I'd unfortunately sold before Christmas, having fallen back 30% to about my sell price. Overall marginally up. Cant complain. Dow not looking good but time to recover maybe.

There are several things that worry me about TLW. They never have liked talking to the media even back when Aidan Heavy started the company and he upset the market straight off. The debt pile is not manageable at todays oil pice if they could even get their own problems with production resolved which I gather that have to some extent. Would have thought they could have found a new CO by now, not that he /she could do more more than the current acting one. Shame they couldn't be more truthful with the markets, because if they ever had much trust that's gone now. The bond holders may well have been waiting for this moment to take advantage of the situation or and at least get their money back in full and stuff the shareholders

T. I read that too. We both exchanged stories like that last week and I said margin trading should be banned. Worse than shorting . Nothing quite compares to that though. How it going I bought 4 stock and they've not as yet fallen further which in itself is quite an achievement. Lots of stock looking tempting but probably more tempting by tonight. Good news fro S Korea and China or less bad news, New cases dropping still. If Italy could crack by the end of week, things might rebound a bit, but this is more than just about man flu.

Trying to stick to my original strategy of buying more of the ones I bought last week which are doing ok, but dropped a bit rather than going for ones that fell off a cliff this morning. I am tempted more by companies I sold before Christmas which have now fallen back quite a bit below my sell price. They Cleary got overbought post Brexit, and now looking oversold.
