It’s like living in a third world country the UK. We recently had to take a neighbour to A&E because there were no doctors willing to see her and all this triage nonsense. 50 mile round trip with unbelievable road work diversions. We were there twelve hours and they kept her in 36 hours, no bed! She had a very serious infection. Picked her up next day another horrendous 50 mile trip. My partner broke her toe in India. Waited 5 minutes in local surgery. X ray arranged and done half an hour later up the road. They gave us the xray, back to docs for treatment and bandaging , £30 all in.

Trinity Biiotech that do a range of kidney tests in the Uk for the NHS have had 55,000 incorrect tests reported resulting in the wrong medicine being prescribed. The cost of these tests is not publicly known. Shame how everything in the Uk is shrouded in secrecy. Unfortunately there is no immediate plan for Renalytix or VRICI to offer their services to the UK. It’s too difficult . Same problem for EkF. Looks very much like protectionism to me. EKF have far superior blood diagnostic tests. Makes you wonder what the problem is after the baronesses downfall over supplying faulty ppe equipment to the NHS costing billions, faulty software was another one, not to mention cyber attacks. What I would say is there appear to be a lot of ‘administrative errors ‘ on Rachel Reeves cv and ergo suitability as Chancellor and the same goes for Ms Raynor and her tax avoidance schemes whilst they fiddle about increasing our taxes to pay for it. Starmer is either blind or has endless patience. The rest of the country isn’t and hasn’t , hopefully that’s the only reason for the delayed budget. Cruis. Its a five year low. The revenue is not, nor the profit. So a share buyback at less than half its all time seems reasonable even if it does stretch the debt. Obviously the imminent budget is a drag on stocks currently, as labour has just worked out their chancellor doesnt seem to understand economics. Fascinating history from rubber plantation to investment trust. Mostly to look after the Barlow family fortune. Started to go horribly wrong at the turn of the century when it was a respectable £4 plus 5 percent dividend. Slid to £3.36 before financial crash and then halved. Has made a weak recovery into £2 territory but pretty much flat lined for five years. Has to be one the worst performing trusts of this century. They put new mangers in place who claim they are aligned with shareholders! Shareholder value destruction has been epic. Steer well clear.

This is beginning to look attractive which is more than I can say for their Pizzas. We have four independent Pizza outlets near us. All far superior and cheaper even in restaurants. Still needs to come on government contracts in the nuclear sector (a share in £900 million available to be precise) The game changer probably will be conformation in approval for Magnetica later this year. That will hopefully enable the market to start to recognise some of the potential value of the medical equipment along with Adaptix

At least five countries already producing Lithium into production Africa including Zimbabwe, the largest producer. Combined they produce 5 percent of world supply which is set to more than double over next five years

Of all the places to be invested in Africa, Namibia is hopefully the best. It’s strategically well placed nor too far from port and all importantly it seems currently a good relationship with the government . With the amount of EVs world wide now and the fact that ATM was heralded as the first African country to get lithium into production( don’t know if that’s still the case) its progress has been somewhat underwhelming, but given the climate and general metal price volatility maybe unsurprising. The double whammy has been the fairly massive dilution in the last couple of years. That needs to stop if the sp is to make meaningful progress. A doubling if revenue is a start. Presumably jig is to be commissioned next week. Maybe not off to the races yet but should help create a new baseline inn the sp finally.

That’s aim all over. Not quite like Harwood and others though. So they have more fire power than most of us put together, but they’re not ones to throw good money after bad.
