This SP and also the NAV completely ignores the over £80 million shown in their last accounts in cash. Ok, they probably spent some on US expansion but thats nearly 20p a share!
The reason for this welcome move? Has Trump woken up with one of our tags on his leg? Oh no, I'd forgotten he has to be convicted first!
Probably too low now but I don't expect a whoop for joy in the SP!
Lets hope they show some sales by our new Yankee salesforce and no more lost customers. I was told some time back when I phoned the co that everything was brilliant with new products being rolled out. If this was porky pies, then its crunchtime.
When a chart view(lse), shows the sp, falling from the left of the chart, to the right of the chart, on all time view horizons, best stay away from the equity. DYOR.
....on Friday. The first before official opening and the last showing after the close. Total for the a shade under one million shares! Both likely buys (at 135p). I smell perfume!
Sad they lost a big contract but these things happen, especially when the client is 'South American President Fred'!
This share will continue to recover.
And there we have the answer. Never a good look when a company sees a 27% decline in a couple of weeks and then issues an update like that. So they are expecting revenue of ~£50.2m in FY24 vs forecasts in the market (per sharepad) of £60.4m, plus reduced operating margins, although they don't say to what extent. Is this business ex-growth? Also good luck winning business in the US when they couldn't bear Serco in the UK!
....is going on here? Dropping like a stone over 20% in a week! RNS please!
When I spoke to the co some while ago they were pretty confident. Remember was rather surprised to actually get through!
Ouch... BIG has missed out on the very large MOJ contract mooted by Zeus;
"A potential large contract, such as the UK MoJ project for electronic and alcohol monitoring units, could add about 20k revenue generating electronic monitoring (EM) units to Big Technologies’ order book. This contract would represent by far the company’s largest contract to date, but shipments would only begin to impact revenues in 2024."
Serco RNS;
"The justice sector is a core area of expertise for our business, and we are pleased the UK Ministry of Justice (MOJ) has selected Serco, following a competitive process, to deliver electronic monitoring services in England and Wales. The contract starts in May 2024 and has an estimated value of around £200m over the initial six-year term, and £275m if options to extend the contract for a further two one-year terms are exercised. The mobilisation and transformation of the new contract will begin in November 2023 with most of these costs being charged to profit as they are incurred."
,,,,emailed the co and got a very prompt reply from CFO.Saw a piece on the box about a 'new' type of tag which can detect alcohol intake in the body. Not new to BIGT, he said. They already have it as one of their products. When i replied to thank him he led me to believe that the co was in a very strong position and would make strong but steady progress.
Just as well really because I recently topped up,
Sorry I meant 220, not 120, in my comment below. Otherwise the comment is correct.
The long term chart, shows that BIG, has ended down for each year beginning January. The equity is in a secular downtrend , which means lower peaks and lower troughs . The down trend line is,at 120, and the overhead supply from previous trading is also at 120. This is a strong barrier to BIG, rising, beyond 120. BIG, is currently in a brief congestion, before most probably falling further. The equity does not even have a redeeming, yield to attract investors to hold.
,,,their massive cash pile is likely to be well spent in this lousy market. They have held it so long that they must have a wish-list by now. AI is already stated to be within their interest.
...a big buyer here as the SP has slipped. Will do a bit of research if poss to see what this Director knows!
Wonder what will happen here today
...on the Braverman front but still hopeful we will get a huge contract for tagging all 'illegal' migrants. My reasoning is simples. When some break them off, she can then put those in prison and then extradite them with less protests! ( O.K, I shall filter myself for cynicism!!)
....big contract in the offing?
...around mid Sept. Should be OK but need news about spending the cash fund on expansion.
Looks like this relates to >5yrs ago when big technologies acquired buddi. Why wait so long ? It’s like saying I sold my house 5 years ago, but I would like you to pay me more now. Very odd.
Why individual shareholders in a company would take this action against BIG rather than the co who made the contract?
Seems very odd and easy to defeat.
....these are still only 5p from a top and more buys thn sells TODAY. I sniff good news out there,
...going through here. Unusual for this co. Stick to my few and so should you!
