it is frustrating i agree. Selling at less than cash value seems a bit odd. There is value in the assets and ~Keith has said he will do his best to release them as and when. There have been a number of institutional investors coming and going. Italy has and continues to be a disappointment but not a lost cause. We should have some kind of decision on Gyan in the coming months and news from Canada is imminent. So whilst the sinking sp is no pleasant experience I think we should find a better exit point than this, but have said that before at a much higher price! There is a problem with sentiment on oil juniors generally, not without reason in most cases.

oil juniors are on a hiding and have been for two years, more or less indiscriminately of prospects, but nop has just goofed project after project irrespective of whether they've been in control. It seemed like a well spread risk and probably still is. Clearly Pershing are unwinding their remaining 3% for which we wont get an rns. Really annoying because these are a bargain now but like prince it would be mad to buy more because it could be a considerable time before a recovery. There are equally good or better plays elsewhere.

I would not take it as a given they will get the go ahead. They were not to keen on conventional plays in such environmentally sensitive areas. Europe is unlikely, with bans in France, Germany, Bulgaria, Romania, Spain. Surprisingly Denmark is still considering. I cant see Holland allowing it, where nop have acerage. Australia is a different story, because of its land mass and wilderness. Water could be a big issue there though, as they need a lot of it, and it has to be fresh, not sea water. At 25p this has to be a very good punt and could end up a ten bagger from here. Just might take another ten years!

Its been a poor couple of years for conventional oil exploration. Tlw have lost their magic touch. BP have had a few problems, Shell lost their bid for Cove, and are having doubts about Arctic exploration. Gyan must still surely be an important hunting ground. Whether Nop can afford to stay with it is doubtful, but Keith has said he would hope to monitise the position presumably this summer. He also said that their should be Italian news short to medium term unless the Italians have gone back to dragging their feet. I cant imagine they are making headway with their economy either. All the excitement over shale oil and gas seems to be giving wat to global protest and opposition on the appalling track record of companies involved so far. Bans on fracking seem to be happening daily and gungho Cameron wants to go it it alone, changing planning rules and offering bribes to local councils. Wonder if Shell would take another look at Italy. Could do with a big gun with influence

Any particular reason? Currently valued at dwindling cash balance, which seems about right for the amount of progress they have made in the last ten years. Many potentials, unfortunately none of them ever get close to being realised. We have a pocket of oil in Gyanne which nobody seems to know if it has any value on its own. we have some sludge in Hampshire which nobody seems to know if there is any value. We have some seismics and a rain forrest of paper trail in Italy which has no value as yet. Possibly licking out some dustbins in Canada which is unquantifiable and an acerage somewhere in the outback in Aus miles from anywhere. Cant see where the under value is! and neither can the market

Northern Petroleum Gears Up For Proof-Of-Concept Drilling In Alberta. Now we are rid of the exhorbitant seven hour lunch break brigade, there is much rebuilding of bridges to do. I think we have to give Keith credit for redirection and hopefully salvage the rudderless ship of willful neglect. Oil is oddly a no go area for investors at the moment and NOP hasnt been the only one in the doldrums. Whilst there may be nothing ground braking on the horizon, it should'nt take a huge deal to change its fortunes given its finanancial position. Possibly one of the more realisticly priced stock in the oil sector at the mo. Would like to say its a raving buy but not much point in the current climate

True. Unfortunately someone forgot to tell Musgrove you actually need some oil to call yourself a full cycle oil production company! Hopefully the new management will put this minor detail right sometime this century....
