Not sure about the overhang theory either. That's some overhang. I thought they raised more than they were after. Can only think it could be Blackrock dripfeeding the remainder of their stock. They signal they are getting out just after the placing, maybe quite difficult to do that when ints have just forked out £60 million for it. Quite a relief we did only draw with Costa Rica, otherwise we would be blaming management and what might have been. Renowned for taking positions in small companies and losing money. Thats the downside if these funds that arnt in for the long term. The question is how much more will they unload? Strange time to do it after placing, and also if the worry is about middle east, oil stocks tend to gain for obvious reasons. As you point out, the market cap has increased several fold at the cost of heavy dilution. Would like to see evidence of the investment of that dilution in the sp as am sure would many very patient shareholders. Compared to the rest of small oilies they have performed well above average in a dire market. Obviously some uncertainty. The dissapointment of Cairn energy in Greenland cant have helped, but is it attractive enough to buy out? Probably not yet. A difficult one

I agree pretty much with Scott assesment. I am completely out for now. Not a totaly comfortable feeling to be honest. Cerainly on my alert list for any further weakness. The main reason being, its not all about trading value imo. The stated aim for Anpario is to build the company up for sale. It has come a long way in the last year or two. They have made some very good aquisitions and some equally sensible disposals. I would think at £52,000,000 mc, they would need a couple more sizeable aquisitions before they reach the premium sale stage. As Scott also correctly points out they are already a global, be it small company. They have painstakingly done much of the foundation work to further build. One of a handfull of genuine aim listed companies. Wont be surprised if I and Mr Scott have got it completely wrong.

I think you might be refering to th rights issue @£1.00, 'specifically for the Faroe Islanders to take part in.' I wonder how many actually did or could afford to. Nice sentiment though. RI's are apparently more expensive than placings, and they probably figured that PI's may not have the investment cash available now the banks and governments have stolen it from them in various ways! Strange how the initial flush of successes seemed to evaporate along with fund raising in recent years and Faroe is from from an isolated case. There are signs that fortunes are turning favourabley once again. Still a small premium to pay on the placing price, and may yet dip below, but unlikely in the current climate and change of sentiment. I notice Junior Oils trust came aboard earlier this year with a sizeable addition to their portfolio in their top 5. gl

Sound Oil are all over italy. I dont think there would be a lot of point in the Italian government announcing that they are going to step up exploration and production, even if it is only because of problems with supply from Russia and Middle East, as well as that it could also make them solvent again, which would be a first since A.D.

I intended to dump the whole stock and put it all into caza, but thought that would be reckless. This year I was going to put the proceeds into RRL and Sound. Either of these ideas would have been better than staying here. Somehow I just cant do it. We're all caught in that trap, what if they do drill Italy! lol

It took one of NOP's old partners 30 years to find oil in the irish sea. It can be a frustratingly long game. Musgrove let Shell lead us a merry old dance which suited him very well while he continued to draw a huge and completely unwarranted salary, while they puffed on about upping the game, hiring new staff for their hectic new phase of exploration. I used to play in the £9.50-£10.75 range along with the miners that were up and down 30% almost weekly which went on for about eighteen months, then I 'discovered' oil juniors, like a rogues gallery! They did quite well for a while on hype and speculation. I think the consensus is they have all bottomed, and bad management booted out to reveal some quite promising companies. We have all learned lessons, although the market seems tear up the rule book every so often. It does tend to take its time giving second chances to companies that have not delivered on promises and as you say the balance sheet now rules again.

Especially since it could be 'news which could effect the sp near/medium term'. I'm sure they are trying their best. A maize of spaghetti bureaucracy no doubt.
