While on paper it looks great Mr Musgrove seemed to think it was ok to sit around and wait for a partner to make it happen, which was great for him on his salary. Not a good plan for the shareholders and came severely unstuck. Mr Bush seems to be unravelling a plan to get out there and make it happen which will be a refreshing change hopefully.

Dont bring up Muzzers pay. It still rankles. Maybe if Gyan came up trumps or he got a decent partner to drill Italy we might be saying he was worth it. As it turns out ,he wasnt a bean. Why did he pay so much for a company he was on the board of ,ATI in 2009, when nobody else was interested in it? A question I put several times, with no reply. In my opinion the man was an absolute disgrace and yet another blemish on AIM companies. Thats why so many investors are asking for performance related pay, not what they think they can get away with, as we have seen with barclays recently. The deal for the Dutch assets, which a lot of people criticised for being well below value, I believe Keith struck some kind of royalty payment on, so that we should get some continuing income from. No idea how much. Great to have so many new faces on board, which is very positive and encouraging recognition that with the new management we may at last be able to realise some value.

Every oil EP company around Italy is experiencing the same problem with the Italian government. Tom Hickey (Petroceltic), ex finance exec and Malcom Wood (oil junior analyst) have highlighted the problem, which is what it is. They have hundreds of oil platforms down the coast from Venice to Ancona. I suppose the north of Italy is perceived as more industrial. They keep denying there is a general moratorium on drilling but there might as well be. There would be quite an uproar from the industry if licenses lapsed entirely down to Italian bureaucracy! Nop has already allowed a couple of licenses to go in the Sicilian channel thanks to Shell's dithering. The unofficial word was that the geology was too complicated. Probably no more complex than Gyan. May have been a slightly diplomatic decision as it was causing quite a stir in an already prickly location. Absolutely echo Mikey's sentiments. It is very encouraging to have a lot of new interest. I'm sure Mr Bush will be delighted too. There have been many promises and false starts in recent years and quite a few institutional investors come and gone during that time. Majedie Investment, who have been here the longest have remained on board through out, but are still probably 100% up! I remember Tullow going through this kind of thing back in 2000. Their shares plummeted from £1.5 to 40p and written off by the city. They then changed their focus from the north sea to a reverse takeover of East Africa oil and eventually the city got the story. Not saying NOP will be that successful but it is a familiar story in this industry. So good luck all. Patience the key word.

There are well over three hundred and fifty oil platforms down the Adriatic side of Italy. I sailed passed them in the middle of the night very pretty all lit up. I have also driven along a fair bit of the Autostrado on the other coast line, a very impressive construction on a series of stilts and through many tunnels, quite tiring alternating between dazzling sunlight and darkness mile after mile. WIll be interesting to here what your friend thinks, but the geology is quite complex and varied I am told. So south Adriatic, where the principal interests lie would be quite different to those of companies like Petroceltic and Med oil and gas for example.

Quite interesting to have a look around at other chat sites to get a feeling about morale and see if there is any other useful info, which there is occasionally. However iii seems to have two investors with umpteen ex investors who have been making derogatory posts for months. Why? Is it rigged shorting or a bunch of sad people. Advfn seems to be festooned with home brewers and people training for liver failure which I can well empathise with after the Musgrove era. Things may not be great here, but it definitely feels we have turned a corner as Bush has achieved more in one year than Musgrove did in ten.
