I know you are supposed to have a balanced portfolio but it just doesnt work for me. I think you have to stick your neck out. Cut loose the non performers and go with momentum and quality. For me this is it. I like the fact that it has performed so well almost against brokers forecasts, under the radar and against big institutions. Couldn't even get a listen in the states! Very under rated Imo.

Expected a bit of retrace after persistent steady rises recently. JP Moron moved their target from £3.10 to £3.40 and neutral rating just 3 weeks before release AVST half year results, which one would have thought might possibly give them a more accurate report on the situation. Why on earth do these dum asses get paid for what they laughingly call research.

Very encouraging Korg. I suppose the logic is that the company has grown substantially since the shares hit £3.35 last September, so why the slow market reaction. I actually bought some more yesterday when it slipped back . Either the fund managers have adjourned for the summer or they are just happy churning bank shares and telecommunications. What are the dangers that the other competitors will start to copy their model? It will become more competitive but they seem pretty well ahead of the game for now, or the potential is they will get eaten by a bigger fish as they have done themselves. Either way plenty of upside yet.

Testing new highs again seems to be tracking the Dow! Having enjoyed free internet security for years with this company am now enjoying rapid share growth. Long may we rise

I have been to meetings with companies experiencing this sort of situation. The board were furious that they had not been informed about their intentions to sell a position as they would have made an arrangement to either buy the stock back or negotiate with another buyer. May not have been possible but its like having stock overhang. Doesn't change the fundamentals or prospects of KAZ which are extremely good, but will hurt the sp and better for the company when Kim is gone.

Sentiment is against the mining sector at the moment. Kaz are one of the lowest cost producers of copper. The future looks very promising, but markets contrary to popular belief, only see as far as the next Trump tweet. From their June presentation:
Aktogay II and Baimskaya will significantly increase the Group’s copper production at a lower capital intensity than the previous major growth projects. Patience will be rewarded. I think this is one of the best plays around although it is likely to be 2021 before re-entry to ftse 100. Happy to just keep adding on the drops.

Do you think its reached the bottom yet? I lost a bundle but at least got out with something. Jobs for the boys for years. directors come and go. but delivering value to shareholders, no. amazed they can find investors. Italy will never happen in a million years. Too much conflicting red tape putting it politely. Shell will probably forget they ever said dig like last time

Roskill analyst Jonathan Barnes discusses with Proactive London's Andrew Scott his copper demand outlook report through to 2035.

''Asia is where 60-70% of the total demand is coming from and we see that demand growing by 50% from current levels ... so by the time we get out to 2035 three quarters of total copper use is going to be in Asia.

''If the copper miners don't invest now then there's a risk you might see a big spike in prices which can be very harmful''.

''We could see another period of very high copper prices causing substitution losses in vulnerable applications''.
Sounds a bit like the oil story. The feasibility of producing at market prices.

Indecision by the fed on cutting interest rates, isn't helming with all the other indecision of blithering world leaders. Kaz does seem to have a mind of its own doing the opposite of most other shares. i.e. it tends to glide down gently and then rocket back up. Seems to have been some heavy late buying. I agree it could and may well drop further . At these levels I feel it is worth building a decent stake.

Thanks TLW. Will keep an eye on them. I Like Avst which has been fairly reliable with steady growth prospects. Been very lucky with trading RTN and IWG. KAZ is great for swing trades but could finally be a steady grower come spring. I've broken even here plus the div so am calling it a day. Didn't like the downgrade this morning. Boselecta. Seriously, if IFAs were paid on results there wouldn't be any, because they wouldn't earn any money. IAG Held up pretty well so far. Sorry about TLWs experiment. Good try though which could still come off before end of trading. Got pretty close this morning, Maybe automatic dividend reinvestment has helped prop up price. I had a fairly major reshuffle beginning of week rather than invest new money. Paid off already so far but in the long term probably makes little difference. AS Woodford knows, its all about stock selection. How on earth did he get it so wrong? Joins the long list of fallen gurus!

Actually there were several bidders, probably chancers after profit warning last summer: IWG, back in August of last year, rejected offers from several bidders, saying none were capable of delivering an executable transaction at a recommendable price. Bidders included Starwood Capital European Operations Ltd, Terra Firma Investments Ltd and TDR Capital LLP. More recently a lot of activity by Mr Dixon through an investment vehicle as well as considerable amounts directly for himself around the £3.40 area. The market does not appear quite so enthusiastic yet having flirted with £3.60 recently. Moves in mysterious ways!
