I'm beginning to think it's our spreadbetters getting stopped out (trailing stop etc), which are ripe for the picking if indeed the MMs want to shake out stock prior to the upcoming news-rich period.

To defray risk and be financially neutral they would have to be in the same direction as their clients i.e. their clients will be long. If their clients were short and won then Spreadex would face 2x the losses if they'd gone long against them.

So maybe think before comparing this piece of premium ribeye steak with a dodgy kebab.

Spread is unchanged an hour after UK close. Whoever it was who said the spread would widen after UK close doesn't appear to be correct.

You can also work it out from the 31/3 RNS where they told us the first rig had started and was scheduled to drill 3850m in 6 months - that works out at around 21mpd.

Not sure where you're getting 42mpd from. I worked out c.23mpd from last year's campaign, and SML themselves use 20mpd in the planning permission documents. The second hole drilled recently where they told us the expected finish date and depth works out at 19mpd.

They're drilling 22,500m but yes along the right lines. In the planning application (statement of works pdf) the company estimate an average rate of 20m/day. We know from the last few RNSs that the second hole has drilled at roughly 19m/day so this seems about right.

PFS won't be published until Q3 next year imo. 10-12 months of drilling according to the planning application then wait for assays etc. Hopefully they will actually RNS a timeline soon - perhaps before their presentation tomorrow/Thursday.

Spread was 0.03-0.08 when i looked earlier so suprised to see any trades at all with that (hopefully temporarily wide) spread!

The 9 holes was what they did last year. For the PFS they are going to infill-drill the entire resource to convert the inferred resource into indicated which is a PFS requirement.

It doesn't include the DFS. You can calculate from the number of metres they said they are going to drill for the PFS (22,500m I think it was) and the expected drilling rate (20m/day/rig given in the planning document), that this 10-12 months is for the 22,500m.

If you look at the documents in the planning application they expect at least 10-12 months of drilling from when permission is received, so it's not going to be this year. Realistically I think we're looking at Q3 next year taking into account time waiting for assay results and producing the PFS itself.

It does seem somewhat forced given the buy and sell volumes. Same with last week's drops.
