RE: Matthew Moulding LinkedIn Post24 Mar 2023 18:45
Its another welcome post off Matt Moulding for a number of very good reasons.
1. Firstly it highlights the successful start up and relationship with FamilyMart Co.,Ltd. Zero to 22,000 protein drinks sold on day 1 and then some is a credit to the power of their marketing including social media and influencers. Bricks and mortar sales also so reiterating again like with the recent entry into German supermarkets that it is not just a collection of global websites. Yes also if they have the capability to manufacture abroad then the read across is there for the likes of the MyProtein frozein meals where he has already clarified that they will look to expand in other geographies beyond Iceland's coverage.
2. Secondly for his intention to travel. He is the CEO of a global concern and as such an imporatant Ambassador as such. Arguably he may have become too insular in his Manchester THG powerhouse. He needs to reach the outer limbs of the business and with it will come more value and enrichment for staff but also more and more publicity and newsflow for Investors and shareholders. It would not surprise me one bit if at time of writing he already has flights booked to New York and New Jersey to cut the ribbon on the new THG Ingenuity warehouse. That in itself would generate untold publicity and a nice Blog or Video to show prior to or with the April update, if not before. Why not also invite the odd Analyst or journalist to Manchester or to one of these locations. Show the true worth of THG Ingenuity rather than the zero value that is presently being attributed to it.
I'd like to think this might be down to the influence of Greg Feehely being onboarded as Senior Vice president for Investor Relations but it may also be down to the threat or assistance being provided by our Activist Investors, Kelso and Sparta Capital Management.
Good communication like this keeps Investors engaged and keeps them onboard for the bigger prize. What an amazing turnaround in newsflow and long may it continue like this.
