DerekR, I would agree with your statement but others would say they the 36.6% that did not vote should count as a "no" vote. Either way it is a majority of the workforce that voted "yes", including non CWU members.

I have just received an email from my youngest child's school saying that if any of them develop a "dry tickly cough" then they should stay at home for at least 7 days. This is based upon "government guidelines". I wonder what percentage of 15 year olds will develop a "dry tickly cough" today?
Imagine if this is rolled out to RM staff?.....

Fruitster, this share has taken a 40% beating since December 16th. It's pretty brutal but I'm not convinced that it has bottomed yet.

The ballot for IA has another 5 days to run. I believe that the CWU then has to give 14 days notice period of any action so the earliest that could happen would be 31st of March although it they have up to 6 months to take any action (happy to be corrected if wrong).
Given the current World situation regarding Covid19 I think that it would be insensitive to start IA and would prefer TP and RB to use it as an "excuse" to get around the negotiating table and come to at least an interim agreement.
I'm not holding my breath thought!

Ispy, it's just a pity that you have to take out a grievance against your line manager in order to make a claim instead of the process being automatic on PSP.

JB , you are correct. Currently RM only pay for SA overtime and not "voluntary" overtime. If this is rolled out to all staff then it could be quite expensive going forward and impact on other deals.
Incidentally, in Northern Ireland, the PSNI have received a court ruling that they can back claim for 10 years and even extends to retired and ex- officers. Ouch, that's gonna cost!

Fruitster, CWU don't own any plc companies as far as I am aware?
They are the collective voice of the workforce which they represent (the same as Unite and CMA) and are responsible for collective bargaining.

JB, absolutely, although I prefer to use the government website as my reference.
There are those out there who think that this a RM or CWU "thing" but it's law just the same as maternity leave.

Fruitster, I would disagree that the CWU are the common denominator with the poor performance of RM and BT share prices, why would it be so?
I think that BT will struggle even more going forward due to their pensions "black hole". Incidentally, BT are now looking at piggybacking onto the proposed CWU pension scheme that RM have adopted and will save RM a small fortune (more money for the shareholder thanks to the CWU).
