Dynamo, this is a bit of a non event really. Amazon will investigate and refund where applicable.
Regarding a contract for delivery of the Covid-19 vaccine, it looks as though Oxford University have come up with a £3 vaccine that only needs to be stored at fridge temperature so surely this would be better off being distributed by a company that has access to a large fleet of refrigerated vehicles?
The bigger issue is delivery of the vaccine to the arm. My GP has been carrying out 'phone consultations' only since April so this could prove challenging in which case perhaps the vaccines will be delivered to the public to self administer?

beetrootjuice, I heard that Covid-19 is going to take the UK government to the court over claims of constructive dismissal if a vaccine is introduced. Priti Patel has already apologised in advance of any bullying claims.

TSSZ, what makes you so sure that the UK government will award the contract solely to RM? Given Boris's track record for not acting on sound advice I wouldn't be so sure especially as Amazon have been blowing their trumpet for doing good deeds for free during the pandemic.
If the contract is awarded to Amazon what will that do to the SP?

JB, traditionally VR payments are made on the first week of the new financial year with the first £30k being tax free.
Non operational managers are eligible for a maximum of one years salary and operational managers are eligible for a maximum of two years salary.

OK, I admit to being slightly out as RMG only managed to post a loss of £4.96m a week that's only £708k a day over a 7 day week or £992k for a 5 day week depending upon how you look at it.

Dynamofc posted on here at 9:01 this morning that there would only be 1500 senior managers going and this would be done via natural wastage so how is VR going to come to £147m?
Even with the original 2000 managerial redundancies I had estimated £130m max as the average senior managers salary is £65kpa.

Dynamo, when did they announce that they weren't making 2000 management redundancies? My manager spent most of last week reapplying for his job and getting his CV up to date do obviously he's not in the loop there?
Given the perverse nature of this share, I'm not entirely surprised to see a rise on a set of results that shows a material loss and I'm not sure how many other stocks would do the same.

They mention the word "free" on a few occasions?

Petralva, why stop there? I do my road tax, SORN and vehicle transfers online and my wage slip is a .pdf file.
My income tax return is done online and I have done inheritance tax and probate online twice this year. Only my P60, water rates and council tax is done via post because they don't do this online, but I suspect that may change soon.

This tweet doesn't mention anything about a contract. It just means that RM are putting in some extra resources to empty the priority boxes on a Sunday which we would normally do during Christmas pressure anyway.

Pinky, I am not as optimistic as TSSZ. For a start the results will only cover the first half of this financial year so won't include things such as potential cost savings as a result of the proposed 2000 managerial cuts (which haven't yet been fully implemented as I understand that this will be done after Christmas) nor will it include the possible government contract that TSSZ has posted.
I predict that the group as a whole will post a small loss of between £25m and £75m which when broken down will show that the UK operation is being propped up by a decent profit from our overseas Investments such as GLS.
Moving forward, I would like to think that the UK government would award RMG any potential contract relating to the delivery of Covid-19 (although indications are that a vaccine will not be available until spring 2021 so any benefits would not show until this time next year) which will help to offset the potential cost of the managerial redundancies of which I suspect many will be delayed until next April (for tax purposes) and at a cost of up to £200m. On the plus side, the parcels automation capacity will have started to ramp up with Tyneside becoming fully operational and the other 3 offices well into development plus extra capacity in the hubs that are already running.
As for the SP? Who knows? I don't think that we will see £6 any time soon but £3+ is a distinct possibility before Christmas, possibly reaching £3.50 by Easter? In the words of Brian Wilson "wouldn't it be nice".

Cheapboy, I am laughing because I recently sold my purchased shares (for a modest profit) plus I still have 913 FREE shares that have earned an average of £1.35 each in divided payments. I now wait for the SP to reduce back to a level where they become an interesting proposition again.
I am also laughing because as an employee, it is always interesting to know what our investors think of this company. Some have done their research but others haven't got a clue as to how their investment is working at the coalface.
