RE: Battery,s/supercapacitor.21 Jan 2024 08:09
Sodium battery,s, so a sweeeedish company ,ALTRIS are partnering with stellantis(and northvolt) and useing BREAKTHROUGH sodium cells with 160w density,,,,,,, dgi already have 200w density, THIS WAS ANNOUNCED 18TH JAN 2024,they hope to produce in 2025 from there factory,if rubbish capacity sodium cells can get that backing and production 1 yr later then dgi should put them out of business as there batterys are only suitable for low outputs like bicycles and mopeds, and the picture shows large pouch style cells. will dgi be at the london conference on energy storage on the 20th february 2024,cant see many takers on 160w unless its really really cheap when 200w is a 25% increase available now with more to come from dgi. the home storage market could be huge with super safe sodium batterys and no worries about low or 0 output if you live in a country where the temp can dip to -30 and your tesla then needs 2.5hours to charge from a supercharger instead of the stated 30 minutes from 20% to 90%, looks like he either didnt put any battery heaters in or they are way too small, even li ion packs for the uk market have heaters built in for unheated garages that are out of the effects of wind chill..
