🎸 Sunday Sermon: “All Things Must Pass — But Not Before Tea”
Delivered by Revd. Oldsharedog to the SCGL Boards
Good morning, my beloved band of brothers, sisters, and those still tuning their guitars of faith.
We gather today on this fine Sunday, with the sacred hum of the servers in the SCGL boards and the eternal wisdom of one Brother George Harrison whispering from the vinyl heavens:
“All things must pass.”
Now, that’s a heavy thought for a Sunday — but don’t worry, we’re not turning into Eleanor Rigby just yet. George didn’t mean everything ends — he meant everything changes. The rain falls, the clouds clear, and life spins round again, like a record on a turntable that’s just had a good dusting.
You see, friends, we’re all a bit like The Fool on the Hill sometimes — sitting there thinking the world’s gone mad, but quietly humming our own tune. And that’s all right. Because even the fool knows: the tune keeps playing, even when the song changes key.
Now, let’s talk about us, the SCGL congregation. Some days, the boards are alive with harmony — posts flying, spirits high. Other days, well, it’s more A Hard Day’s Night — everyone’s tired, nobody’s sure who’s leading the band, and someone’s just posted the same meme for the fifth time.
But fear not! Because, as George told us, it’s not always going to be this grey. The good times roll back around, and the laughter returns — usually just after the server reboot.
And let’s remember — in the great cosmic jam session of life, we each play our part. Some of us are on lead guitar, showing off our solos. Some are on bass, steady and quiet. And a few of us… well, we’re on the tambourine, but we shake it with conviction!
And through it all, the divine rhythm keeps us together — a Come Together kind of faith, you might say.
So when you find yourself feeling blue, thinking your post didn’t land or your life’s gone out of tune — remember:
Yesterday is gone.
Tomorrow Never Knows.
And with a little help from your friends, you’ll get by.
Because the real message of All Things Must Pass isn’t about endings. It’s about flow. About learning to let go of the bad riffs so you can make room for the next verse.
So, my dear SCGL souls, let’s keep the faith, keep the groove, and keep our sense of humour — because the Lord works in mysterious ways, and sometimes He does it to the sound of Yellow Submarine.
Amen — and may your bandwidth be strong, your tea hot, and your hearts in perfect tempo.
🎶 And now, let’s all rise for the closing hymn: “Let It Be (Unless It’s About Tech Support, Then Please DM an Admin).” 🎶
