RE: Top up7 Nov 2025 13:52
In 2019 NFX shares spiked they were focused on repurposing existing drugs using cocrystal technology, which can improve drug properties like solubility and stability. This approach attracted speculative interest due to its potential for faster regulatory pathways and lower development costs.
The spjke/spikes, hitting 13.5p, were fuelled by renewed interest in the sector as a whole and especially the company’s lead program, NXP001 (a cocrystal form of pirfenidone), targeted IPF.
Investors speculated on Nuformix securing licensing deals or partnerships, which could validate its platform and bring in non-dilutive funding. Even without confirmed deals, the anticipation alone helped fuel momentum.
We are seeing almost identical trading similarities at present - renewed interest in this pharma sector & small CAP companies, another product, this time shortly to have ODD & FDA approval, and the hint of a deal landing shortly after the FDA announcement.
My question is here, if it happened in 2019 why can't it repeat the same levels in 2025. I am sure that some long term holders will have reasoned explanations which will be valuable, as I have only had nearly 12 Mths history with this stock.
