In a word - NO These shares are undervalued for sure, however the reasons for their price stem back to last year and will not be shaken off lightly. They had an ok Christmas/ January and only 10% down YOY, but the next couple months are also critical as they are Business Peak, and we all know how businesses are feeling right now don't we! Add the 6 suppliers refusing to supply them due to insurance problems (this maybe resolved IDK) to these woes and a negative picture soon emerges. However if JB is indeed restructuring and shrinking the store numbers (whilst increasing the WNR refits) you can see the medium term looking far better.

The first 3 days sick unpaid was started before Christmas. Totally innefective as its poor pay anyway :-) - no seriously it really did not put off the lazy sods that still phoned in over Christmas. On the other hand one of my colleagues was quite ill during the day and he asked the manager if he could go home and the managers reply was that he would be put on report if he did! Not good!

Well our regional manager came round this week on a fact finding mission on good points and bad points (which is very unusual). This news would also fit in with the top level down restructuring JB is doing. As for the joint Currys / PCW store in ??? (I forget the place) it is a likely model for the future. However we were told that the small currys just round the corner is having its WNR refit very soon while our big old PCW store has to wait. We will see , nice find btw and I think this will be seen as positive news for share price.

Certainly was a big year, for the whole market ... the wrong way!

Anyone with news on the Insurance withdrawl for these? I heard two bits of news yesterday, one (the first) from a low source, the second from a second more reliable source. 1/ The one supplier refusing to deal with DSGi had renegotiated sucessfully (they supply HP printers and Samsung monitors ) 2/ The one supplier refusing to deal with DSGi has risen to 6 (no news on what the other 5 supply) The touble is the sp rise this week seems to go against this information.

Surely the whole bank issue with the money pouring into those and the economy looking far bleaker really puts the whole of retail under massive pressure. Q4 has to be a bad time as their best time of the year for Business is the next couple of months and atm Business are holding on IT investment.

We have masses of bare shelves in our store and really need new stock. It was like this in previous years but my old brain finds it worse this year.

I agree with your sentiment of how DSGI is run at a local level, and some of the utter rubbish their CA's come out with is truly terrible; however this company is never a 10p company. When I invested at 9p and doubled my money it was because I did not recognise the exterior view others have of them. They have their good points, particularly in business and TG, and with the older staff they have clung onto. There are changes being made in the company that will bring more revenue (WNR and connections) but there are real problems that need to be addressed (real training - not FIVES) to give better customer service. For the short term I have bought in again last week but I hope for some modest rises, so I can bail out as I want to see the direction the new board take us in, and the stock DSGI invest in.

So we had the annoucement on peak trading this week and the board movements as well. I see both of the contents as being positive as DGSI did better than feared, and JB has got rid of (or moved aside) some of the dead wood in the Boardroom. But why has the share price not reflected this? Any thoughts?

The latest sales figures do not take account of the kickback taken from T Mobile, etc for the connections agreed upon. There are very high margins for these and have been a useful profit generator. This troubles me as i do not beleive it is accounted for as part of the margin allowance and maybe an accountancy headahce for DSGI. Look out for some news on this towards the final quarter. Ladybug ... the removal of bonus's from all staff to just sales is terrible when you are already paid just 30p above minimum wage. Do not be under any illusions DGSI pay poorly. However I do accept this probably varies between store managers, as does the level of training and this may account for the varience between DGSI employees saying that its a good company or bad company. tesco - agree with you, and despite the "cool" announcement on posting our opinions, how could they possibly find out to get you in trouble?

DSGI are constantly crowing about WNR dragging in 25% more revenue. The trouble I have with this is that stores like Weston and Exeter have had these full refits, and over the 8 weeks of peak have only managed 75% of target in 7 of those weeks. How are they spinning these figures so badly? In our cluster its old style stores doing better. Number 25, when has minimum wage or upto £1 above been a good wage? When has not getting paid for the first 3 days sick been looking after their staff? 3 days a week works for me but only because I have a good paid job alongside it.

When the shares were at 9.00, I did not recognise the company many were desribing, to the company i work for, so I invested and doubled my money. However I equally do not recognise "Toothjewel's" company, as DSGI pay poor, do not incentivise, have poor products and VERY poor moral amoung CA staff. Apart from a couple managers, generally everyone is on the look out to move on. Some of the staff like myself are reasonably contented as circumstances suit. Bad leadership drags DSGI down.

Whether anyone is right of wrong it is good to hear informed opinion. Mild insults should be avoided as we want to see negative and positive posts about these shares. Sliding down .... oh dear

It will be interesting tommorrow which side of DGSI will influence the share point more. On one hand your prediction that currys will drive the price down is an eye opener. However I looked through the Margin to Target percentages that the company give out to us plebs and what I saw is encouraging. In the run up to Christmas our cluster were roughly at 75%, but the last two crucial weeks were around 100%. How much that will balence the figures we will not know until tommorrow but if its only 12-15% then that is above expectations. I hope your wrong jamster as I have indeed bought at 19.75

I just read a post from when the shares were close to 9p and the person was saying that he offered £600 for a £679 laptop and seemed surprised that he was refused! I am amased that anyone can think they can be taken seriously asking for that amount of discount. PCW has to keep laptop prices low as it has to compete with the internet, how could anyone expect to get a massive dicount on an item that will have a small margin! Staff could not be given that amount! FYI massive pressure is on all stores to keep discount to 1%. However I do agree with his reflection of the young staff, but who wants to be interested for targetted minimum wage?

In my store we are at about 85% of target for margin over the Christmas period, but in the region it seems the small PCW stores are doing poor. I recently bought these shares at 9.3 and sold at 19, but I am a bit disapointed to have bailed out too early. The thing is I have worked for as a manufacturer rep instore for 4 years and have worked for PCW 2 years at the same time. The coverage when the price was at 9 and even now does not reflect the optimism and enthusiasm that the managers and older sales guys reflect. Sure the majority of the young staff do not have a clue, FIVES is almost useless as a technique, no product training whatsoever, and poor product choice drag the store down; but we seem to be driving in the general right direction. The main problems that need to be addressed are: get rid of the buyers, (get new in) deliver acheivable bonus's, give product training that helps customers.
