Yes its quiet instore and more than usual years but ...... If you read up on the chartists on the Banking shares, they seem convinced that the current downward trend of the FTSE will reach its 2 month bottom soon and then start to recover. It only needs some good news from the banks and a bit of a recovery there and retail will follow (although slowly). Add the positive effect of Windows 7 creating new momentum in October and into peak, on top of all the cutbacks and jobcuts that DSGi have made should make the Autumn and Winter look very Rosy for this SP. Also their new pricing strategy on currently high priced items should make a great impact (in the next month - I only have seen the POS!) Also if they get a move on with the partial refit of the top 50 PCW stores before the Autumn, it all adds up positive. IF only someone could be brave and tell JB that Fives is a crock of **** then that would be just great!

The extra placement of shares at 61p dilutes the shares by about 30%, will surely cause a retrace; however harsh this is on existing holders (not me atm) this has to be good to get the well into production long term. Any thoughts?

Actually mild concern is now with me as I cannot dummy sell any amount! negotiated trades only on Selftrade. The sells are not too much of a concern as the sp is holding up relatively well.

Essentially you are quite right about this, but I think you are not understanding how the public are against Vista (wrong IMHO) and have activly abstained from buying, or have bought XP. 7 will allow you to run XP through an emulator (depending on specs) and the good feedback 7 has received will assure this. On Friday i was on the beer with mates from my old employment and 2 of the 10 or so that i spoke to (I have to put up with computer talk now I work in PCW) said they are waiting until October to buy! Also people are wasting huge amounts of money buying Apple just to avoid Vista. You make some very good points otherwise.

This is a share BB not a DSGi BB and the important things to remember are: Connections and CABS have created the margins last year and will this year, and so profits will stay up The reductions in overheads will aid profits WNR stores coming online will add more traffic and profit (accelerated by RI monies pumped in) Windows 7 looks to boost sales at a critical time and before the recession eases. Fives will affect this share profits not one jot good or bad

I am not going to argue with you over fives, as it has its good points, but if you are any good its nothing but a pathetic distraction.... Q:What brings you in today sir? A: looking at laptops (looks at you like a moron as thats what hes lookin at!) Q: Are you a PC performance customer A: NO, WTF or incredulous looks! Q: how are you lookuing to fund this sir? A: Card, MYOB, or WTF you cheeky bugger! Our store is top 10 and is not a failer and only the know nthings like fives.

Many many people do not want to buy a Vista laptop having heard all the bad news about Vista (undeserved for the majority) However I have heard mostly praise for Windows 7 and i actually run the trial version. The driver problems are easily solved by equipment manufacturers as they are mods of Vista drivers that exist already. Therefore the launch should attract more positive news and I forsee a good sales rise in that period.

when I get a chance to listen in to my colleagues dishing out the rubbish advice it makes me very frustrated, and only say 25% know what makes a more expensive laptop better for the customer and why (and make better margin for DSGi)

The savings made this last year will help immensly for the next, the refits coming online in the next 12 months again will help lift profits, and add in Windows 7 launching on October 23rd, will lead to a bumper Xmas. This should be a good year for this company. But jw210188 don't make me laugh about better training. The awful fives rubbish does almost nothing. One dimensional way of doing things adds nothing to us that have done the job for a while and product training is as bad as ever. Don't look to staff for quality advice as unless like a few of us that bother to find out information off our own backs, most staff know NOTHING!

never a good idea to hold too much in stock as it is 50/50 boom or bust ..... great if it multi bags but terrible if it goes into receivorship (not that this appears in any risk of that I would like to add)

Thanks for that, I didn't realise this was out and its the first time I have seen it. Resolution 6 and 7 do not sound good for holders.
