No way of knowing why Moagi uses such cautious language. In my opinion he either does not wish to commit or expects more than the usual bung before he will agree. Either way it is strange and unhelpful. you would have thought he would bite our hand off, especially since the Civil Servants' Pension Fund is a significant shareholder.
Hopeful Mr G hasn't said it all today and will have at least one other popsicle for us att he meeting.
So why the RNS today? Not like our Mr G!!!
SamMason55 - its just a case of how patient you feel you can be. Remember this is the stock market so the grass is not always greener elsewhere! If you really are determined to get out, then get out without further delay. If your p/f is overweight GSK, you could consider encashing some (but check the ex-divi date first). I've been doing this for 60 years and heaven knows how much I am down but I think I'm getting the hang of it now -a bit!!
Tant Valley was not dependent on Zhongzhi, the Chinese finance outfit that has just gone phut!!!
..and my pre-Xmas message to Santa Mercia is diversify your sectors a bit more. Too much in any one sector can be risky, e.g Gaming does cause mental health problems. I know evolving cos are where your market is but by its very terminology it is a wide field. Spread it around - Oh and jolly well done so far!
Hello Bythesea! So you are still in here!! My holding is now about 750,000! Lets hope we both live long enough to see this mine producing, but I think there will be a further begging bowl before then. HappyXmas!
....what a tiny bit of trading would do to this SP. The very small capital is obviously very tightly held..If I am correct, the annual report should send the SP skyward!
...a very good day here. Hopefully better appreciation for its potential.
.....why are we just flaring it away? Would it not be worth getting a gas co to collect it for sale? After all we not exactly gushing with cash right now!
Jatw, you are not looking at this the right way round. I am now well retired and I have six pensions, some paying stupid yearly amounts like £5. Today's young people - if they have 45 year careers, will have at least five and up to 10 different employments. They will love the idea of just having one pension plan and he who pays the piper.....
Yes folks, we all want to and there is zilch from the co. Very worrying for us all but just hope for an update soon and not a share suspension. The latter would throw a nasty shadow over this management and all their previous enthusiasm. My suspicion is that there is no news from sale of Tant Valley and since the finalisation there provides the cash for all other moves, they want to await that outcome before RNS. T

...looks like Krafty Kamran plans to dilute ordinary shareholders by this latest wheeze. Will be more than interesting to read what Slimeball and Sleezebag have to say in answer. Perhaps the best mood music to accompany the eventual meeting as those who bother to attend take seats may be 'the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea'.
...what was in Wednesday's Budget about employees being able, in due course to take out individual totally portable pensions throughout their working lives. When this is put in place, it will be another huge boost to LGEN (and Aviva).
Small print in the Budget but weekend newspapers will show it. I have increased my already sizeable exposure in both companies.
Market seems to be taking a teensy bit of notice.
Hopefully the medicine is starting to work but will clearly take a bit of time to turn this big ship around.
...my message just now on Aviva! Great Budget news for the big life insurers!
I have been blessed with a brilliant budget feature so far not appreciated by this market.
Workers will now be allowed to take any pension from the market, not be stuck with their employer's own pension fund or the government's AND carry it from one employer to the next throughout their working life.
When this provision is understood and takes effect, it will revolutionise workers' pensions and the big providers' SP will reflect this new substantial income stream. Glad I topped up big in Aviva today and to lesser extent in L&G!!
Correct, but the only thing open to us is to sell in the market. I grasped that nettle some while ago and now only retain a nominal amount to see what, if anything, becomes of this Marie Celeste and,I suppose, do a little dance if any of these rogues get their just deserts!
I happen to have given the necessary notice to close a Bank investment and just received a wadge of cash in my day to day account. After a little thought, I have decided to invest a large part into Aviva Ord shares to make my holding rather substantial. The reasoning (which also applies to the balance which is shared between L&G and GSK already in the portfolio) is as follows:
It is reasonable to expect some relaxation of interest rates in the next few months which will cause investors to turn to decent yield paying shares rather than fixed interest, which should gradually reduce. By increasing my holding in these safe and boring dividend payers, I should have the benefit of both the decent and rising dividends AND the real expectation of rising share prices.
Not guaranteed but, in my considered view, good odds! And Budget Day is one day when, at least until lunch time, prices are stable to lower !!
