There is now barely 1p between the prices of PIM and PHC. Huge cost savings and wider net of products screams out for a merger.

There is now hardly 1p between PHC and PIM share prices and all the common sense screams merger.

Now I am quite well into these I have analysed the accounts and it tells me that there is likely to be something happening to the share capital if the turnaround progresses; either a Placing & Open Offer or a Consolidation or possibly both! They do not have the headroom to turn the ship around and it will take well over a year (more likely two) with a following wind. So in the absence of a quick bid (unlikely) if the new boss is successful we should be prepared to stump up more cash. They also need to get expenditure under control but at least they know that. L&G have given SPA a vote of confidence.

L&G are a shrewd lot. Had a good look and am having a punt. A few more decent contracts (and the odd Penny Share mention) could see this double for Xmas.

Infras have all drifted badly now, Combination of Stells Creasey's proposal to back taz the benefit of corporation tax reductions (which won't happen) Labour big John aiming to nationalise (absurd) and now over-reaction to the 0.5% increase in base rate next week. I'm still in all mine for the divis and hope they will get a write-up soon as having fallen too far.

I'm in for the fairly long haul Spikeyj but at my time of life That isn't what it used to be mate! Just keep an eye on the Portfolio a few times each day.

If they all helped, why did the ******* SP fall 22p today?! I suppose no RNS and the SP might have been off 72p! Ridiculous. Hang around though because I am convinced this has much more coming in 2018.

Stella Creasey is aiming to push through a change in way Infras are taxed retrospectively to recoup the corporation tax decreases since Infras first came market. I believe it was 29% when HICL first arrived and now is a lot less. This could be nasty but a lot of union funds must be in them as well as individual Labour MPs. Even if this was to be enacted, there would be a legal challenge and then you have to think about Judges' investments and their pension funds. So I won't be selling yet although more such chat could harm the SPs. This one has fallen more than others already!

Nobody posting but me. All transactions here show as sells. Only reason to hold is the dividend!

About 3 weeks and although not expecting much in results, surrounding news should be bullish for SP.

Strange that SP should marginally fall i response to good profit news, particularly from USA.

Bit of a disappointment since the Placing. Announced another uplift in a rent today and SP falls. Will wait for announcement of move from AIM to Main Board soon and hope that stirs a bit of interest. Shame. This is a good outfit well worth �4+

All other Infrastructure shares are just recovering from Labour party scare weakness. 3IN is romping away! Not that I am complaining. Big holder here and pays for my Corn Flakes, but why is the SP doing so much better than the others?

It seems lately (inc today) its all positive RNS from AZN and the market is relatively unmoved. IMHO fair SP now should be 10-15% higher.

As I figured earlier, there's some stake building going on.

a few guys have wisely had a nibble at this. I don't expect the price to rise a lot more now until they announce developments.

Does not imminently expect it to make profits but reckons it a buy at present SP.

David Stevenson on P17 of his 'Money' column discussing overlooked Private Equity groups: "First up is EPE Special Opportunities, which trades at a chunky 19.6% discount, but has lots of cash and a single massive holding in a London-Listed lighting business [Luceco] that has shot up in price. The real discount on trading assets once cash is excluded is closer to 40%" Of course this does not mention the other big attraction: a vast amount of stock is held by the Directors and top managers whose fortunes are therefore closely aligned to yours and mine!
