I find the media almost continually looks for a negative spin. If you read the article, rather than just the headline, the quote referred to a resident requesting that all environmental studies be completed prior to exploration. Justice Pepper replied that they will consider this request before handing down the final report. The media could also report the Inquiry will consider the request by Origin to permit exploration under current regulations....
Let me get this straight....Origin is being accused of not reporting a natural fault that was less than 15m long, in a well over 1000m deep and at least 900m below the nearest possible aquifer is grounds to call a full stop on the thousands of hours of interviews and research, validated by scientific evidence. And further, call the year long work of the “scientific” inquiry a sham, promoted and supported by the NT government. And yet...upon investigation by the Inquiry panel it was actually confirmed Origin reported and properly documented this event, sharing it with the inquiry, who have reported in the draft final report. I find it absolutely shocking that the media are giving LTG so much airtime. I’d like to see the Origin lawyers hit LTG with a defamation lawsuit or the media to run an article that exposes all the misinformation being pushed by LTG with the sole purpose of promoting fear and uncertainty to further their own selfish agenda.
Thx Newtofo. I have indeed been around since fast talking Bruner was promoting the merits of Hungary, and burning through cash with reckless abandon! Experiencing the steady handed, transparent leadership of POQ and his focus on Oz has been a blessing. Until SA has a government that is able to fire the starting pistol on exploration, I’m afraid those permits sit on the same side of the ledger as Hungary. Good news in Oz is that if Gunner doesn’t follow the guidance of the Inquiry, the Feds will step in. I think Turnbull is giving Gunner the time he needs to complete his commitment for an independent inquiry. Once the final report drops, the clock starts and I don’t see more than a couple months lapse before we get the green light or the feds step in as a matter of national security. While I’m personally not happy with the moratorium, the way it has been handled thus far will provide Gunner with the evidence and support to lift the ban and then engage industry to promote job growth in the NT, all under a regulatory regime that manages the inherent risks through balanced regulation. Win/ Win/ Win. Nothing right now would indicate a need to maintain the moratorium. The panel has done an admirable job of engaging the locals, weighing the risks against proven scientific evidence and has listed the changes required to minimize or eliminate the risks. As noted in the social impact report, much work has to be done to educate those who will be impacted on the real risks & benefits based on facts and scientific evidence to undo much of the FUD the folks at LTG have been pushing. As long as the project continues to move forward, I’m happy cause the size of the prize will be immense. On the low end, we’re looking at $4.00 CDN.
Been a patient holder for over 10 years and have accumulated more stock than a responsible investor should. POQ and his leadership have negotiated a brilliant deal with Origin and their being quiet right now shows their experience and diplomacy in allowing all the cards to fall into place to our long term benefit. I believe this stock is finally on the verge of a breakout and this lull since December is merely the market makers taking advantage of this being dead money until March, with little risk of a news event that would materially affect the stock. As we near March, I feel this will start creeping back to the .40 CDN level and feel strongly Gunners Team will support lifting the ban, with a commitment to follow the recommendations of the inquiry to mitigate risk and respect the wishes of his constituents. It’s also reasonable to expect they should provide a green light to resume exploration while the water studies are completed and the regulatory framework is developed and implemented, prior to large scale production commencing. Wanted to thank the regular posters for their regular, thoughtful and well researched posts....and to Bigones for the entertainment value!
Read the article and a number of others published on the site. They seem to be balanced and the outcome will be dependent on the degree to which the NT gov follows the inquiries recommendations.
