I thought this was worth posting which I found posted by another user on another board. An article they have had for years about market makers. TL:DR? Dark pool tricks are real.

OTC = ‘over the counter’ very similar to our AIM ‘alternative investment market’

Market Maker's Operating Procedure
The savvy long-term investors never chase stocks up. For the most part that is momentum players and daytraders where most of it or what follows is dumb money. Instead the long-term investors use a couple of simple strategies in order to position themselves. One is to find a stock no one immediately sees has huge potential and accumulate.
Long-term investors are not interested in trading against the public mind or the dumb money. That's where the majority of the money can be made but even more can be made if the base of a stock is held extremely strong by investors. However the second is not to doubt the research which is the underlying basis for going long and holding.
More and more investors are winning the game nowadays despite all bashers that float through the Internet that has become part of the game. Floor traders of market makers often watch CNBC, news wires and bulletin boards in order to follow the market during trading session.
OTC BB market makers (MMs) don't use fundamental and technical analysis. However, what they do realize is a lot of dumb money does use this newest nitch charting or TA (Technical Analysis) to run a stock either up or down. To the MMs this is like taking candy from a baby. Simply they will paint the tape and use whatever tactic to affect the charting bands.
Thus the public and dumb money they will have eating out of their hands. Effectively the MMs can show a strong stock growing weak by manipulating the close price in order to generate selling volume, delaying trading time to manipulate trading activities, or even stalling the ask without honoring orders to hold a stock price.
MMs follow a simple code of business when making a market in a stock especially an OTC BB. That is the level that stocks will seek that yields the most volume. Now this is very important because they make money on the volume buying at the bid and selling at the ask. In other words, by making the market they are buying low and selling high.
Now smart money adheres to that rule, so do all the market makers. They could careless whether the stock is at $83 or at $0.23. All they care about is the action thus being able to sell stock at the offer (The high) and buy stock at the bid (The low). To increase their profitability, they make the spread as great as possible on as many shares as they can especially if the volume falls off.

When they have mostly all "buy" orders, that's not the price that's going to yield the most volume.

I've been here since 2019 and while it's taken longer than I expected, things have only gotten better. You keep focusing on the little things like SP decline. I'll keep focusing on the bigger things like the projected PGM deficet, use in batteries and catolytic converters,licenses,resources etc and most importantly.

The BOD have some of the biggest skin in the game and they just used an RNS to allay the impatient. Almost as if they want the adage of the markets are a mechanism of transferring wealth from the impatient to the patient to be inverted here. Kinda like they want us retail to enjoy the benefits as much as them and not just them and some IIs as well as a handful of salty sea dogs.

Frankly I have more respect for Blackrock than I do you right now. Grow up indeed.

I like the RNS, sounds like they are trying to emphasise how much skin they have in the game whilst allaying investor fears re divi. Just ish I had 2 grand kicking about for a nice ISA purchase.

I am one of the new share holders but been investing since early 2019. Philboro is correct. If you use stop losses on volatile markets like AIM you are asking to be taken out by large swings down. Some say the mms can see the stop loses but personally I don't think they need to see them, just drop the SP 20% and see what comes in in terms of cheap stock knowing a % of retail investors will have used stop losses.
Research what happened to Rockhopper (oiler) over the course of 2 or 3 days back in the 2000s. Brutal stuff. And why I have never used a stop loss outside of some forex trading.

Just got 10517 @ 6.18. Was constantly going to UT the past 15 minutes on Halifax. I've paid my entrance fee, let's see where this goes in the coming months.

Thx for getting back Franky. I started with SXX...but redeemed myself through EUA however that is taking longer than expected so happy to put what I got elsewhere in the meantime. Gotta be honest, the talk of takeovers has me thinking I just want some shares as opposed to an ideal buy in price because 10-15% gains is not my game.

I have known the risks of cytokine storm response due to many things before covid was even a thing so really great to have the chance to invest into a UK company doing good things in that realm. Kicking myself for not already having this on my bio/covid watchlist. Could be a real game changer in so very many medical scenarios.
I'm just a bit wary of being spiked for a time. The things I am reading about AGILE however mean that should only be a short term risk due to such a sustained rise seeing prudent profit taking after a SP wobble that gets strengthened by AGILE news.

Looking at the trades on the SAR website would I be wrong in saying this should open up a good 12-15% to the close on Friday? I'm an investor so don't normally try and figure out opening prices, I just pay my entrance fee but as things stand I will be hard pressed to get 5000 shares so naturally I want as much bang for my zero hour bucks as possible.
Seems like sentiment alone will prevent the consolidation period you normally see after such a sustained rise on the graph.

Breaking cover to say those are called Loaded Potato Skins Steadydanny. Used to have them on the menu as part of a sharer dish where I work in a pub kitchen. I've been reading through posts this weekend and thinking of rejigging the PF to grab some SAR after someone mentioned it on the VELA boards. Maybe. I'm a min wager zero hour kinda investor for now so asset rich but capital poor lol.

Yes, I like the sound of MODE primarily due to the bitcoin cashback incentive. I've been talking to my crypto focused student age work mates in the pub about MODE. They are not interested in investing VELA or MODE but I can maybe get them to use the app at least and they are interested. I'm stepping out of my mining comfort bubble with VELA but it really does seem like our CEO made a fine investment with MODE.
