using veterans who are in difficult circumstances as a justification to be callous towards others is about as low as you can get.

I think labour have been pretty ineffectual tbh. They've come into power at a difficult time but have failed to create a vision and inspire people. Not great really, but not in any way extreme or radical, nothing to get het up about one way or another. Nothing much has changed since the tories which is disappointing but probably symptomatic of the economic rock and a hard place they find themselves in. You can't magic that away, no matter what some people might tell you.

Does any of that mean we should start demonising minorities, privatise the NHS, undermine the judiciary, incite hatred - build a political party on it, lose the ability to discern facts, undermine an independent press, throw away our human rights and crash the economy? It seems many think so.
