Many outlets seem to have stolen a march on us, Ticketmaster regularly sell tickets for live streaming events as do Ents 24, Live Nation, Gigs and Tours, ATG Tickets, and WhatsOnStage, all of whom issue weekly update emails. The business model seems to be 70% to the artist and 30% to the service provider, with our 360 degree cameras etc I would assume our costs would be higher than a straightforward streaming event, which might explain why if my memory serves me right it cost us 2 million to generate £150k of sells. Add to that new entrants such as Switch, Doors, and Cloud 9 it could be a very crowded market place. On top of which Frank Carter wasn’t particularly complementary about their experience, describing it as ‘not a viable alternative to live events’ So potentially we along with all of the above are fighting for a share of the can’t make it to a live event or sold out events money. We really seem to have missed the bus after 15 months of lockdown, a captive audience and two venues described months ago as ready to go.
