We are obviously never going to agree, although I’m sure we both invested for the same reason, belief in the concept of live streamed events and the hope that with all those exclusive agreements and licences we would corner the market, but that was 4 years ago. So in what alternative universe does a share price that has dropped from 18p to barely hanging on above 1p actually reflect the everything is hunky dory posts of some on here?

So agree Dan, also if still invested I would be concerned about the reviews of the original Napster app, reviews make it sound so unreliable and poor quality. Which I think is a major problem. The easiest way to introduce the new app is an update to the old app which automatically transfers you to the new app. With bad reviews and reduced user numbers that clearly isn’t going to work so well

Did say I would keep an eye on things after I sold out in case things improved enough to get back in and just had my weekly event update email from AEG, they are marketing tickets for a live streaming at the o2 by New Order 6th Nov, £16.50 a ticket, stream provided by a company called LiveHereNow. Another competitor?

I first invested August 2017, got my initial investment out April 2018 sold some at 15.03 and 18.06, so only profit invested, then did a few day trades May into June 2019, but basically other than that I’ve been sat on dead money since 2018, I invest to make money, not watch it devalue. So I’ve now got out with what profit I have left would rather put to work elsewhere. I will put it on my watchlist and should it ever improve I will think about getting back in, but 3 years from 18p to 1p isn’t an investment plan. I really believed in this when I first invested, but have lost all confidence. I wish you all good luck with this share. Might be back if I ever see a sustained improvement even by a few pence, but for now enough is enough.

Oh incidentally 300 in UK amusing comic comment but the reason UK isn’t that crowded is the 300 million customers are spread across 178 countries, although it did seem a possibility when I was trying to get petrol recently

If you are talking America they have been there for some years they now see America as a major growth area hence target 2021 not 2016 try another search.

Spotify with 300 million subscribers have plans to take on America as its next target market, along with plans to be the platform for podcasts and audiobooks. If they did move into VR which seems likely I would be very concerned. With a partnership already in place with Ticketmaster they could control the market, just imagine tickermaster selling tickets for an event and pushing customers towards Spotify VR for sold out or long distant events. Sounds something like we what we were supposed to be about back in 2017.

Albert, considering that Sept 2020 Spotify partnered with Ticketmaster, who already have Universe, and Songkick to develop its own VR content I can’t see a buy out of Napster IMO. Also Spotify’s own strategic growth document lists podcasts and audiobooks as it’s next growth target, with a 24% growth in podcast downloads in their last financial year.

Is there a free version of Napster? I’ve found the subscription model, I’ve found the non subscription pay as you go download track model, but nothing that directs me to a free version. It appears that the only option is the free 30 day trial which requires you to provide your card details with an auto join at the end of the trial

That that may be the case but according to ‘Simply Wall Street’ naps share of the market had been at -43% two years ago and increased to - 50% last year. So hoping that the 20% growth will reflect in next years figures rather than 20% growth equals a 50% reduction in market share

Spotify/Driift nothing seems to have happened since.
Original Napster app is still available in App Store and all search engines, so regardless I still don’t understand why if they are paying search engines to place the app, they aren’t also taking advantage of click bait track placings to increase income in the meantime. Updating an app or transferring customers to a new app platform isn’t apparently a complicated process. So every extra customer gained in the meantime is current and potential future income.
