SP / NAV / Barclays21 Jul 2021 21:08
Just looked in, failed to understand what Barclays are on about as we have a number of ISAs in the family with SEED in them all and it is the majority of the holding in the ISAs. We trade with Halifax's IWEB paying £5 per deal. and have just bought some more SEED in ISAs. We read of some in the past saying they were unable to get a quote from their dealer for FFWD, as it was, while at the same time we were getting quotes for FFWD with no problem. Answer to this is change dealers
We appreciate that the NAV / SP has not always been like this, as Doggo pointed out correctly (unusual for us to read many posts but those of doggo are usually readable). We were just indicating the difference if it kept its spread and the NAV went to 24p, did not mention that if got to £1 the SP would be 70p. But of course this is all generalising and if/when SEED gets to 24p there should be more interest in it , with a lot more trades (hopefully). There are ITs (we hold some) that only have a couple of trades a day as well as a bigger discount and spread than SEED. One advantage to this is that you greatly benefit from the dividends that are paid. A lot of ITs trade at around a 10% discount, but again we have seen larger discounts when trading was slow (A good time to buy). On a very few occasions an IT trades at a premium, LTI being a prime example as there was a lot of interest in it, (not sure at the moment though) We only hold a small amount owing to the cost of the shares which are £1500.00p each. A premium is usually only there because the displayed NAV is below its actually value as the NAV is only updated occasionally and/or there is a LOT of trading in the stock, one of SEEDs problems being very few trades in it, which keeps the spread wide.
Again we do ask all of you to stick to the subject matter and not criticising other posters. Every one has the right to their own opinion , if you disagree just write your opinion on that subject, without being rude to some one.
reefles original post needed reading a couple of times, which we did after reading reefles had been criticised, but I did follow his meaning eventually and followed he wanted it low to be able to buy more cheaply, perhaps if he said retained a large discount if it went up others would have understood.
