As I also said yesterday, it may just be more expedient to generate power from gas to sell to the grid.

I concur. The bitcoin idea is a secondary. The real money is in AI server farms. Particularly the ones part financed by government. Or indeed operated for the government.

A 5 MW gas fired generator required between 4-6 bar of gas to operate. Main grid gas pressure is near 100 bar for an offtake. Not a practical outcome in this instance as the nearest main grid pipe is a couple of miles away.

Anyway. Pressure is not the same as flow. If a PS can get the gas to flow consistently at decent surface pressure, then a sizable data centre is viable.

Alternatively a small local CHP farm could provide district heating and or power generation.

Cables are a lot easier to connect than pipes.
