If you want to replace the current CEO, you don't need to find thousands of candidates, you just need to find one with the credibility and the strategy to obtain more than 50% of votes cast by shareholders.

Where politicians are concerned, there is never a problem in finding an alternative, whether good or bad, there is always somebody else seeking to climb the greasy pole.

Replacing the CEO of an AIM-listed oiler, on the other hand, requires forethought.

There is absolutely no point in getting rid of either without being able to propose an alternative.

Can't afford to get rid of Gove, he's one of the few in the cabinet of any weight.

By reducing the share price to its present level, the placing has rendered the risk/reward ratio even more attractive, ie the downside risk has been reduced and the potential upside reward in percentage terms has been increased.

Was impressed a year or so ago when, accustomed to their understated ways, they allowed Alba to be associated in the media with the high end of the 2012 resource estimate, 500,000 ounces. For myself, it meant they believed the resource is, in all likelihood, larger than that, perhaps considerably larger.
Since then, with the exception of the dewatering delay, everything has gone to plan or exceeded it.
They've expanded their interests in the Dollgellau gold field, a further indication of their confidence in the potential of the area.

And, then, there is their stake in Greenroc Mining where comparisons with other Greenland miners suggest the upside potential is pretty compelling.
