There is quite a lot that, for the present, remains out of focus and the government itself has recently changed, so here's hoping the coming weeks and months bring greater clarity.

SS doesn't use the word "cohort" but does write this in the RNS of 27/06/24:

"... successful applicants must not only identify potential storage users but must also demonstrate via LOS that its hydrogen storage is being developed in tandem with pipeline connections, so that key enablers of the UK's new hydrogen system can be delivered simultaneously ...".

UKOG published its "UK Energy Overview" on 05/07, the day after the general election.

SS appears to have established a good relationship with the previous government.

As the new Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, Ed Miliband will be looking to move forward the Labour government's policies as quickly as possible.

The first Portland RNS dates back to 30/05/22 so they have been working on the project for more than 2 years now.

Assuming Shore Capital did pick up their 1bn+ shares' interest in the placing, then that is almost 1/3rd of the placing which went into their hands.

Without knowing more than the information provided by the TR-1, on the surface it looks like a cheap buy. If they hold on to the stock, then it will obviously significantly reduce potential flow-back from the placing.

I expect they participated in the placing. Their RNS was dated 18/07, the day the new shares were due to be admitted for trading.

The Retail Offer is expected to close by 5 p.m. on Friday 19 July 2024, but the Company reserves the right to close it earlier. Eligible Shareholders should note that financial intermediaries may also have earlier closing times.
