I have every sympathy for those who have lost money in UKOG but the market isn't a morality play or a classic John Wayne Western, the past is the past.

For the share price, what matters now is the present and the future, not the past.

Share prices anticipate the future. They have no need to anticipate the past because the past is already known.

Your "£100 MILLION" (which you only arrive at by writing off their net assets at 31/03/24) is irrelevant except to a corporate historian.

It is in the past, so already reflected in the company's figures and in its share price.

What matters for the share price now is the present and the anticipation of the future.

Agreed, Storey89, there can be pump and dump merchants but they don't explain today's massive percentage volume in UKOG shares.

At long last, there are increasing signs of life returning to the UK market which, over the years, more or less since Brexit, has under-performed and become undervalued by comparison to its peers.

Hopefully, today will change the market's perception of UKOG, from a stock of almost uninterrupted decline to one which possesses substantial recovery potential.

In all the time I've followed UKOG, today is the biggest volume day I have seen.

Re access to levels 4, 4.5 and 5: can one speak of working at the coalface when it's a question of a gold mine? :-)

Assuming Shore Capital bought in the placing, their gain is about 100% on an investment of about £150k, that is about £150k more than nothing.

5.6m shares at the present time, +0.20p at 1.35p.

Don't you mean cut the loss, given you always suggest UKOG should be shorted?

IF the share price continues to rise, the company's market cap will rise with it and the financial constraints on UKOG are loosened because it becomes easier for the company to raise new funds with less dilution.

I can remember just the one session in UKOG where shares traded exceeded 50% of shares issued, think the percentage was about 52-53%.

Issued share capital is 8,167m shares. It's going to be interesting to see where this session ends up but it looks as if it's well on the way to establishing an all-time record in terms of volume.
