So why do you consider £180k to be chicken feed in relation to UKOG?

It may be chicken feed to you, Bubblepoint, but what is UKOG's market cap? £1.17m.

If you put in £500k, you're obliged to bid for the whole company because you've gone way over a holding of 30%.

Don't let me stop you, deltavegatheta, but the point is that UKOG themselves may be keeping a close eye on this latest addition amongst their significant shareholders.

What one can say is that UKOG updated its list of significant shareholders very promptly.

Agreed that almost all of these nominee accounts concern PIs such as those who are holders and post on this board.

I have no idea for whom Puma Nominees is acting. Private clients managed by Shore Capital? A client in particular? There is no way of knowing.

Management is expressing a different opinion. Given KZ's recent interview, we may not have long to wait to learn more about their intentions.

Market makers are there to make a market, ie to buy when others seek to sell, to sell when others seek to buy. They are not there to invest.

If they find themselves with stock on their hands, they reduce the price in order to bring out new buyers.

They have made it clear they wish to become a dividend-paying company but that, in order to do so, they need to have more than one revenue stream out of which to pay the dividend.

By participating in a placing, I assume (but I do not claim to know this).

If Shore Capital is stake-building, then it is close to arriving at an interesting % of the capital.

Because the capital is spread across PIs without any significant holder apart from Shore Capital, a stake of, say, 15-20% would be disproportionately important.

Re mergers, KZ's analysis is, imho, certainly correct, the market is crying out for consolidation amongst these AIM-listed oil and gas companies.

There can be no doubt that such a merger would help ANGUS to de-risk its exposure to Saltfleetby as would, of course, an acquisition.
