People are obsessed with intangibles - but in IT companies, intangibles will be very high. Look at BT, Microfocus... They all have billions of intangibles... that's the nature of telecoms/IT companies.

£2.11 was stupendously undervaluing this company. I have a 3-5 year time frame on my investments.

Millie the dog - you need to convince yourself - don't ask me or others. I bought because its consistently generated strong earnings per share and has grown dividend every year up until a few months ago. Why people continue to buy Tesla and Amazon which are on the 100s P/E when Aviva is on 5 P/E is beyond me. Aviva is a solid, dependable company with a great brand, not to mention £13 billion spare capital and cash.

Monkeyjack. I just go through dealing with ITI - the staff always answer calls and I've traded successfully over the phone all of this week. I did give them a 0 out of 5 stars, but actually when the mess is sorted out, they are quite a good company. They sorted my unsettled trades pretty quickly. Two decisions I made in the week before SVS securities went bust saved me £100k... the unsettled trades were a god send as one of them was a sell of Microfocus @ £17.80 and they are now £3.00 ish... if I didn't sell them, it would have cost me £70k. The other was buying Fresnillo which made me £45k. Don't get me wrong, I am down an horrendous amount of money, but I do think the FTSE 100 is extremely undervalued!!!!

Vitally important in IT companies to include intangibles IMO. Less of an impact in other sectors.

Well I had a stroke of luck with Aviva. I bought £40k of shares in August last year before SVS went into administration. It transpired in being an unsettled trade. The broker closed it out at £4.10 a share when I had bought at £4.00. I was angry at the time, but now I've bought almost as many shares for £25k today. I still would have been happy to have bought at £4.00 as they are worth at least that, but £2.80 is a fantastic bargain. Looks like Aviva is still valued at least than their spare capital. Undervalued by a royal mile.

Sold my fresnillo shares and bought into a raft of FTSE 100 companies - Vod, BT, RBS, Lloyds, Aviva, BP etc. Invested a lot in Vodafone as its a good income stock...! undervalued also.

I can wait. Patience. Brexit definitely a strangle on the economy and people's spending decisions.

Lemonsqueezy - bought £30k of HSBC shares. Anyone selling really is selling well below real value. I'm upping my bank stocks - way oversold in my opinion. Sold all of the my gold share holdings at 40k profit.

Following this company for years. Not investible.

I know its down somewhat - but those results were superb in the current context. The fact they have £12 billion cash spare - despite being valued by dumb investors at £10 billion, says it all. The return to high dividends not far off.

My buy sub £3 was great. SOLID SOLID SOLID results in a pandemic. This is an A+ investment. Great to own Aviva shares.

I'm holding for £25 (seriously!). I think the crisis is that severe that silver could easily top 50 dollars and gold 3000. I don't ever sell shares that I am long and until I reach my target. Fres is 10% of my holding - the other 90% is a car crash - however I am only buying bank shares at the moment - HSBC, Lloyds, BARC, Natwest, BIRG and AIBG. I do see long term value there.

Guys - don't expect any premium on this - this company is creaking under the debt. Any offers will be for a pittance - they have to sell as they cannot afford to service the debt. I am very much a risk taker but this is one share I won't touch in the future.

RBLionHeart - I've had it - its flu! Two of my cousins died of flu within the last five years. How do you die of flu? Well usually your lungs pack in. All 'flus' attack the lungs - first it starts off with a cold, then a chest infection, then pneumonia. I had pnewmonia when I was younger... I've had the flu and I've had this... they all felt pretty much the same except Covid 19 wasn't as bad. I don't know anyone else who has had Covid - supposedly everyone who dies these days seems to have Covid 19 on their death certificate and that's patently a gross manipulation of the label. Most died of 3-4 other co-existing illnesses.

whatamess - the recession isn't driven by financial issues - its a manufactured crisis caused by a severe overreaction to what amounts to a flu for 95% of the population. I've had Covid 19 myself - luckily not too bad, bad cough, tired - pretty much the same as a flu I had a few years ago. Has anyone actually noticed how much money is out there sitting in people's accounts - and how much money is being pumped in - so much its unreal. I think lloys is oversold by a mile - the last time it was this low was at the worst of the last recession and then banks were actually in a mess. Now they have too much money. My local credit union in Ireland has a quarter of a billion for a population of 25,000 - they don't want any more money as they don't know what to do with it.

Bought a lot more this morning. Lloyds is an entirely different bank than 10 years ago. Did anyone pay attention to the fact that it CET ratio has improved to over 14% - it can withstand a hell of a recession. Also, at least the provision for impairments came out of profits! And its a provision - bad debt hasn't gone up materially as the Government are throwing everything they can at the economy. Other negative pessimists on here only see the negatives - I see a lot of positives!

don't agree. When they made £6 billion profit - no one said that was huge. The loss has been entirely offset by a tax credit. And remember £750 million PPI provision unused. guesses as to losses might be totally over blown.

so many positives - but NAV is close to last year at over 50p.
