Toffappleton - its up to you to work the market. If you think the share price is too low - then buy... if they wont let you buy then you know its rigged... but they are there for you to purchase. So cheap - I keep loading up....

Baso - LGEN is still a good investment at their current levels... but there's a lot more going to happen with Aviva over the next year or so. Selling the Singapore business for that high price shows that they don't let something go for less than its real value!

I feel the last few sessions rise has partly vindicated my stance that Aviva is better investment than L&G. I also think the new CEO is far more decisive than the last one. Hears to more good days.

The future is bright; the future is Aviva. They just sold a tiny part of their empire for £1.6 billion - new CEO means business. Share price up over 4%.

tomglan - look at their earnings per share compared to LGEN and you might enlighten yourself. I've been investing for so many years and its water off a ducks back. Even Royal Mail is roaring back - along with all the dividends I have picked up in the last three years... I am in profit. And of course my investment in Fresnillo at £5.65 and selling at £13.38... well... I don't take anything to heart any more and I don't let others influence my decision. If you look at Aviva - earnings per share last year was 60 pence and their policy is to pay out up to 60% of sustainable earnings... that was not a change of policy, rather than an adjustment to the reality of Covid 19 that LGEN completely ignored!

tomglan - I've increased my holding £25k in Aviva. Still don't see a case for LGEN

tomglan - they did it because they followed Government guidelines! LGEN was the outlier and of course is acting like the current Government as if rules and guidance don't apply to them. Given the current levels of uncertainty, its much more sensible to review and reinstate as things become clearer...!

Well - the divergence between Av. and LGEN continues! Makes perfect sense to me - Av. has a cash pile of more than its entire market capitalisation. LGEN must be scrapping together a few quid to ride the storm out. Great that Aviva is prepared for all weathers... when you have a cash pile of £13 billion and the company is valued at £11 billion, something seriously wrong with investors...

Baso - talk of offloading French arm of Aviva. At least 20 bidders expressed interest... seems their strategy if divestment of non-core markets generating a lot of interest in Aviva.

Pretty consistent divergence between L&G and Aviva which is good to see. Aviva has plenty of businesses to offload to focus on UK, Ireland and Canada - which is the right focus. Bought £25k of Aviva at what I consider to be a very good price. Still not tempted by LGEN.

Great to see this go up - but still a long way to go before I get back to anywhere near my average. With parcel volumes going up a third and plenty more scope for increases, wouldn't surprise me if it went to £4.00 - to properly value its assets and potential.

Redceo - very nice but still undervalued

Net Asset Value per share £1.00 - actual share price £23.00+. Actual net value of assets < £1 billion million - give or take - valued by the stock market at £17.5 billion. To put it in perspective - Ocado continues to be loss making, making a loss of c. £160 million per year. Aviva made a profit of c. £2,500,000,000 (yes £2.5 billion)... Aviva's share price is less than NAV... stock market totally up the left!

Stewball - all FTSE 100 companies have taken a pounding and are significantly undervalued. BT is down a lot, but experts think Openreach is worth £20 billion alone... we are in a bear market; the issue is pessimism and loads of it. Looking forward to the bull market returning.
